Watch moment surfer Rodrigo Koxa broke record for biggest wave ever ridden

This is the incredible moment that Brazilian surfer Rodrigo Koxa broke the world record for riding the world's biggest wave last year.

Koxa surfed an 80ft (24.4-metre) wave at Nazare in Portugal on 8 November 2017 and the moment was captured by Newsflare member Pedro Miranda.

Koxa's record for the highest wave ever surfed was confirmed at the 2018 Big Wave Awards that took place this weekend in Los Angeles.
