A year after the jobs and skills summit, the federal government has released a white paper outlining recommendations for the future of work in Australia.

00:14 Absolutely central to the white paper we are releasing today is a secure, fairly paid job for everyone who wants one

00:23 and a qualified worker for every employer who needs one.

00:35 This is a missed opportunity this white paper because what the government could have done is said

00:39 look we are going to do everything we can to create the more flexible workplaces

00:43 to knock down the roadblocks to work for employers and employees

00:46 and in the process make sure that we can have more Australians in work, lower unemployment,

00:52 higher employment and have low inflation at the same time.
