A deep dry-docking facility is still coming to La Brea, but it's not going to happen overnight.

The Energy Minister gave an update on the project on Wednesday.

And, he urged people to beware of bogus advertisements, claiming to be offering jobs related to the project.

00:20 Speaking at the Energy Matters breakfast event on Wednesday, Minister Yong issued a reminder that it's a government project.

00:31 And the government has a contractor that they've engaged with some time ago.
00:37 So sometimes you will see persons putting out advertisements.
00:41 Come and apply, come and do this, come and I understand they've been taking people's money.
00:46 That is fraud.
00:48 Yong said when it's time to begin hiring, the government and its partners will put out official advertisements.
00:55 The government is focusing on the international maritime industry as part of diversifying the economy according to the Energy Minister.
