01:08 But first, I wanna tell you what we did to this car

01:10 that makes it so awesome.

01:12 Again, Mad Maxis Off-Road Runner.

01:14 We did this whole car

01:15 because of these really cool new tires from Maxis.

01:17 These are the Maxis Razor MTs.

01:19 But you can't just have a normal muscle car

01:22 if you're on dirt every day.

01:23 So under the hood,

01:25 a five liter Cummins V8 engine.

01:27 Nobody puts these in muscle cars

01:29 'cause nobody can get them yet.

01:30 This engine's brand new.

01:32 This is what's gonna end up in the new Nissan Titan.

01:34 It's got a Flex-a-Lite radiator up front,

01:36 Mishimoto intercooler.

01:38 We have Hydro Boost, we have full hydraulic steering.

01:40 We have dual air shocks up front

01:42 just because this engine's so heavy

01:44 and because nobody runs dual air shocks.

01:47 Got an Airaid air cleaner up top.

01:49 Let's go inside and show you what's behind this Cummins.

01:53 So behind that Cummins

01:54 is an Allison six-speed automatic transmission

01:57 bolted up to an NP205 transfer case.

02:00 We got lots of shifters here.

02:01 There's actually the fill stick right there

02:03 for the transmission.

02:04 Painless wiring harness.

02:05 Here's where we run our full hydro steering.

02:07 Got a couple Optimas back there.

02:09 This is an electronically controlled transmission.

02:11 We have a computerized diesel engine.

02:13 There's a lot of wires going on underneath here

02:15 to make everything talk to each other.

02:17 But we needed all that stuff

02:18 because we wanted to get all that torque to the tires.

02:21 Driver and passenger are riding in these nice,

02:23 white vinyl Mastercraft seats.

02:25 Perfect for an old rusty car

02:27 that you're gonna drive around out in the desert.

02:29 50 gallons of diesel fuel right behind us.

02:32 Perfectly safe.

02:33 In the back of this car,

02:35 we have a lot of stuff that we're probably not gonna use.

02:37 We got two giant spare tires.

02:39 - Which we won't need.

02:40 - We're not gonna need those.

02:41 We got brake lights.

02:42 - That aren't working.

02:43 - We have license plate lights.

02:45 - Dual that don't work.

02:47 - We have a trailer hitch.

02:49 - That we're gonna pull our jet skis with.

02:50 - When we go to the lake.

02:52 And when you're building a tow rig like this,

02:54 you need a big rear end.

02:55 So it's got a Dynatrack 80 back here.

02:57 Some big Deaver leaf springs, some Fox shocks,

03:00 and JE reel drive shafts.

03:02 This car is gonna be awesome for going to the lake.

03:04 - And launching a boat.

03:06 - Yeah, pretty much.

03:07 Let's show you what's up front.

03:08 All right, this is a Dana 60

03:10 that came out of an old Dodge truck,

03:11 but it was too narrow.

03:12 So we ran it up to Curry Enterprise

03:14 and they stretched this long side tube,

03:16 made us a long axle shaft for this side.

03:19 We also have G2 axle shafts, G2 gears.

03:21 We have an Eaton Detroit locker in the front end.

03:24 We have brakes from EBC.

03:26 We have Ram steering from the off-road connection,

03:29 and it's all held together with a custom suspension

03:31 that Dave designed.

03:32 And a pair of air shocks on both sides from Fox.

03:38 So up front, we have some high performance

03:39 dual blade windshield wipers.

03:41 We have rebar Exo cage that we put over

03:43 the rusty spots on the body.

03:45 And this is a long range antenna

03:47 for our wifi and interior stereo system.

03:51 Let's go, Dave.

03:52 We're gonna go see how this car does doing donuts.

03:57 (engine revving)

04:04 - Feel rubber, Fred.

04:06 - All right.

04:07 - Let her eat.

04:07 Get it.

04:12 There you go.

04:13 There it is.

04:15 (laughing)

04:17 Now it's doing it.

04:21 I think it's working.

04:23 It feels really safe.

04:26 Give it some more power.

04:32 Oh, that's a good one.

04:45 I can't even tell where we are.

04:47 - Not bad for a motorboat towing muscle car.

04:57 - Are your teeth as dirty as mine?

05:03 - No, I was, I had my mouth shut.

05:04 - I was like.

05:06 (laughing)

05:08 I'd say we can do donuts in this car.

05:13 - We just dominated the donuts

05:25 and our air shocks need more air

05:27 'cause we were slamming hard in the front.

05:29 - Plus we filled up the tank yesterday

05:32 with 50 gallons of diesel fuel

05:33 and the seal at the top.

05:35 - Is missing.

05:36 - Is missing.

05:37 So with every whoop that we go over,

05:40 it splashes a little more diesel fuel

05:41 into the back of the car,

05:42 giving it that perfect scent

05:44 that every 73 Roadrunner should have came

05:46 from the factory with.

05:47 - Diesel, vinyl, and what was the other one?

05:51 - Two sweaty dudes in jean vests.

05:53 - Yes, there is, it is.

05:55 - We're not saying that this car is a lady killer,

05:57 but this car will get the ladies.

06:01 - So if you're looking to get some ladies,

06:02 you gotta build yourself a 73 Plymouth Roadrunner.

06:04 Come as 5.0 diesel V8 and 40s and 35s

06:08 and an Allison and EBC and an air,

06:11 and then five, and then trailer hitch.

06:15 That's a wrap.

06:16 Dave, I think the next thing we need to do

06:28 is haul butt down this rutted road

06:31 and see if the suspension falls out

06:32 or the engine falls out or the car breaks in half.

06:35 - Agreed.

06:36 I'm pretty sure we should have aired

06:42 the shocks up a little more.

06:43 This isn't bad.

06:46 Nice, whoa.

06:48 - Oh!

06:55 Found the bump stop on that one.

07:01 The dual air shocks and the front is the way to go.

07:06 I'm pretty sure all of the diesel powered trophy trucks

07:09 with solid axles will be doing this next year.

07:13 - We're going a thousand miles an hour now.

07:15 - I think the speedometer is reading somewhere.

07:18 It's at zero, so it must have gone all the way around

07:21 and came back to the top.

07:22 - Big bump.

07:23 Oh, jeez!

07:34 - Yes, I believe that we have once again proven

07:41 that this car is awesome.

07:42 You see how Dave's up there looking like Rambo

07:53 and Schwarzenegger all combined into one?

07:56 That's because at the end of the world,

07:57 we're going to have to compete against zombies

07:59 for all the stuff that we need,

08:00 like coffee and dog food and diesel fuel

08:03 and pie and ice cream.

08:05 So we're going to show you how this Mad Max car

08:07 can help us kill zombies.

08:09 Ready, Dave?

08:13 - I'm ready.

08:14 - Hang on.

08:19 I'll try not to drive too fast.

09:08 So that proves that this car is perfect

09:10 for the end of the world.

09:11 Well, most of the end of the world.

09:13 The other thing that we're going to run into

09:14 when doomsday comes is tsunamis.

09:18 Tsunamis are giant waves.

09:19 And when giant waves come, what do you do?

09:21 - High ground.

09:22 - Let's go to high ground.

09:23 You think they'll believe there's going to be tsunamis

09:32 out in the desert?

09:33 - Yeah.

09:34 - Okay.

09:35 As long as it's believable.

09:36 (engine revving)

09:39 (rock music)

09:41 - We're working on it, we don't need roads.

10:07 - I'm pretty sure that the JK,

10:09 the whole JK scene, the four-door Wrangler,

10:14 that's almost done.

10:15 I think everybody's going to be going to muscle cars now.

10:19 - I know that I'm probably going to hold one for the family

10:22 'cause, you know, there's nothing like a nice big muscle car

10:25 for the parking car truck.

10:27 - Exactly.

10:28 How was that?

10:37 - No shoulders.

10:39 No concern.

10:41 Yes, we made it to the top.

10:59 At the end of the world,

11:01 if there's a tsunami out in the desert,

11:04 this car will help us survive.

11:05 - All right, what do we got to do next?

11:07 - We just got to outrun those guys.

11:10 (yelling)

11:12 (dramatic music)

11:17 (engine revving)

11:32 (tires screeching)

11:35 - Oh crap, it's the couriers.

11:41 - Oh no.

11:41 - Looking out run 'em.

11:46 - We got the road runner.

11:47 See how much faster it is than their cars?

11:53 (dramatic music)

11:56 (engine revving)

11:59 (tires screeching)

12:22 (tires screeching)

12:25 - So we're doing pretty good getting away from the marauders.

12:42 - Yeah, we are.

12:43 - The two wheel drive, I think got stuck

12:45 and I don't know what happened to the guy on the motorcycle.

12:49 (engine revving)

12:52 - We still got this one four by four marauder

12:58 in a black courier on our tail.

13:00 I think if we go up here to the hill climb,

13:12 a waterfall, we'll be able to ditch him there.

13:18 - To the waterfall, they'll never catch us there.

13:21 I don't think you can do that on a 205.

13:34 - (beep) you can.

13:35 (laughing)

13:37 - All right, the courier's still on our tail.

13:48 - Well, there's that.

13:50 (dramatic music)

14:29 - Dave, we did it.

14:32 - Good job, Fred.

14:33 - We got to the top of the mountain,

14:35 so we escaped the marauders.

14:36 We also escaped that tsunami.

14:38 We did the dirt donuts.

14:40 We did the hill climb.

14:41 We killed the zombies.

14:43 - We jumped a bunch.

14:44 - We jumped a bunch.

14:45 All that's left is just to eat pie

14:47 and tell all these people we'll see them next time

14:53 - I want some of that.

15:00 - Cummins-powered Roadrunner is so awesome,

15:04 and we're so glad we put a tow hitch on it,

15:06 because sometimes when you lend your nice truck

15:09 to your camera crew and just say, "Drive it up that hill,"

15:12 the next thing you know, they blow apart the front end,

15:14 and we got to use our muscle car as a tow rig.

15:17 (engine revving)

15:26 - Yeah.

15:27 - Fired.

15:28 (laughing)
