Operation Sycamore in Baden Street, Hartlepool

Police are continuing to crackdown on issues that matter to residents in Hartlepool as another police raid takes place.

00:07 Yeah, so today is Operation Sycamore where we've been listening to the community again,

00:12 listening to our partners and the concerns that they've been raising and the intelligence

00:16 that we've been gathering in relation to drugs and people who have been exploited because

00:21 of their vulnerabilities really. So today is a bit more of a show of action out and

00:25 about trying to get some of those drugs taken off the street and protecting some of those

00:29 people in society who need protecting from those who are dealing drugs.

00:33 What message do you want to send to people today?

00:35 We're not going to stop, we're just going to be out there all the time, we're going

00:38 to be listening to our partners, we're going to be gathering the intelligence, we're going

00:42 to listen to people and what they tell us and we will act up on it when we can.

00:45 What impact do you think today has had on people in Barnington?

00:49 I'd like to think it's had a good positive impact, especially what we've recovered. We've

00:52 recovered a lot of cash, a lot of drugs, we've been taking a lot of weapons off the street

00:57 from what I've seen in the addresses so far. So I'd like to think that's got a good impact

01:01 on the community today.
