Volunteer Di Johnstone has just celebrated 20 years of walking the dogs at the Canberra pound

Di Johnstone has been a volunteer dog walker at Domestic Animal Services for 20 years. She helped to set up the volunteer program, with almost 100 people now on the books, giving the dogs in the pound regular walks

00:12 and she's taught me a lot actually about how to run a volunteer program

00:17 and how important the volunteer program is for our dogs.

00:20 What do I get out of the volunteering?

00:23 I get the joy of taking these dogs for a walk every week on this lovely trail

00:33 and seeing them enjoy the experience.

00:37 And it's something that I have done for many years and I hope to continue to do for a few years here.
