Dog Is The Best Nanny To Foster Kittens

Dog who was terrified of cats takes care of foster kittens now — and even has to approve their new moms before they leave her side

00:00When the kittens are in the pool, Phoebe's there to supervise.

00:06Once the kittens are out, they'll lie on a big towel and Phoebe will lick them dry.

00:13She's like a little nanny.

00:15I had no idea that Phoebe was going to be this good with the kittens.

00:20That was not part of my plan. She just did it.

00:23I started fostering kittens because Phoebe was scared of cats.

00:33She was growling. She was trying to hide.

00:38I felt like, oh, I've got to do something.

00:41You're okay.

00:43I could see that she kind of wanted to get to know them.

00:46Good. Good girl. Good job.

00:50We would use some treats.

00:52And it took about a week when we finally felt comfortable letting them interact without putting a barrier.

01:00Good job, Phoebe.

01:03First time Phoebe spun in front of me because there was a cat.

01:08That's when I knew she's going to be fine.

01:11You can see her jumping.

01:14And after that, they were best friends.

01:18We fostered kittens named Biscuit and Gravy.

01:22First few weeks, they had a really bad parasite infection.

01:26I made sure to sanitize their living space so that they don't get reinfected.

01:32Phoebe likes to inspect everything when it comes to kitten stuff.

01:37She was by their side as they got better.

01:40Thank you.

01:46And within a few weeks, the kittens finally got better.

01:50They started to play.

01:55She wants to be involved in everything.

02:00Phoebe is really amazing with them.

02:03She helped the boys blossom into their personalities.

02:08When the day came where Biscuit and Gravy got adapted,

02:11Phoebe knew something was happening.

02:17She was licking Biscuit and Gravy's new mom.

02:20And she even got to say her final goodbyes to Biscuit and Gravy.

02:26I'll never forget how special that moment was.

02:30It is such a blessing to have her help me with the kittens.

02:36It's not easy fostering, but I feel like Phoebe and I are a good team.

02:43She's just so patient and tolerant.

02:47She used to be terrified of cats,

02:49but fostering kittens brought out her nurturing side that I didn't even know she had.
