00:00Tinashe may be a name you know, but as an indie artist, she's thriving.
00:08As a teenager, Tinashe was part of a girl group called The Stunners.
00:18She would later go solo when she signed to RCA.
00:25After three albums with the label, it was announced that she and RCA had parted ways.
00:30She told Billboard,
00:42Since then, Tinashe has released three albums on her own with another on the way.
00:47The lead single off of Quantum Baby,
00:49Nasty, is blowing up in part thanks to a meme on TikTok.
00:53And she says going indie has been extremely rewarding,
01:00especially spiritually and emotionally, in terms of how I view myself as a creator.
