00:00The new popular Front Alliance rests on a principle.
00:04In every district, all of the leftist parties
00:07have to back one common candidate in the general election.
00:12Friday evening, the France Unbowed Party
00:15released its list of candidates,
00:18which its partners would have to support.
00:21One name emerged, Adrien Quintenance,
00:24a sitting MP who was convicted for hitting his spouse.
00:29Meanwhile, several key MPs were missing from the list.
00:33They had all criticised the party's leadership in the past,
00:37calling for more democracy.
00:40The parties of the Alliance have decided
00:43the Popular Front would back outgoing MPs,
00:46with some exceptions.
00:49We have backed our outgoing MPs except for one,
00:52due to sexist or sexual violence.
00:55We have done the opposite, and that is not possible.
00:59Other leftist party leaders have criticised France Unbowed's
01:03decision not to present so-called rebel MPs.
01:08The Socialist Party leaders said
01:10that this was a scandalous move he is trying to reverse.
01:14Within the party itself, some MPs have also called
01:17to reconsider what has been described as a purge,
01:21and to avoid fractures in the fresh Alliance,
01:24two weeks ahead of the historic vote.
