Far-right Patriots stripped of key remaining parliamentary posts

Orbán’s Patriots for Europe wished "bad karma" on pro-EU parties that maintained a cordon sanitaire on the far-right group, preventing their lawmakers from securing the last top jobs available in the European Parliament.

00:00Our future will go through sovereignty and the quest for an indispensable strategic autonomy for Europe and for our nations.

00:31It proves that the spirit of democracy is not present in all the political groups of our European Parliament.

00:41But we, the group of patriots for Europe, we respect the institutions, we want to play the game of democracy.

00:49We have been elected in total by 20 million voters through the European Union.

00:55And so we are legitimate to express their voice and we will do it proudly for the next five years.

01:02Today we have to send a strong signal of a united and determined Europe.

01:17Because being against the Cordon Sanitaire is being against the rule of law.

01:21And the rule of law means we are all democratic. And not being democratic is in itself against the rule of law.
