Do you think of the new Labour government now, three weeks in?
00:03
They've hardly had a chance to get going. I don't think it's fair to
00:06
form an opinion at this stage.
00:08
Has anything made an impact on you so far?
00:11
Not that I'm aware of, but I think it will do soon.
00:14
What do you think could lead to that?
00:20
Tax. Changing tax.
00:23
Great question. I think really look at it from three sides. First of all, good luck
00:26
to the team. Good luck to the Prime Minister, because after all, when you're living in the
00:30
country, it's always important to support the leader of the country, regardless of how we feel.
00:36
Now, being apolitical, my opinion is, with the government and the pledge with Labour
00:41
in looking at more housing to replenish the shortage with the supply and demand we have in
00:46
the UK, I would say good luck, but it's going to take more than rhetoric, more than statements,
00:51
more than just bold policies that will have an impact on all the communities across England,
00:56
Wales and Scotland, as well as Ireland. But I think really where the main key driving factor
01:01
in here, where we talk about diversity, inclusion and equality, is you need to listen up. You need
01:07
to take action and put a stop on what's going on in parts of the world where there are millions
01:11
of people around the world that have been displaced. The focus should really be on an
01:15
economic level. How can we add value to what we're doing on an economic level in Leeds, Bradford,
01:20
Halifax, Calderdale, Kirklees? We're focusing on wars and going on around the world and we're
01:25
taking money, increasing the level of debt in the economy, but what could we do as an economy,
01:30
as leaders of the party, to focus on a micro level in helping those that are vulnerable,
01:35
the ageing, the children, those who've got mental health, when the record levels with medication,
01:40
where hospitals have been oversubscribed with patients, could it be the fact the government
01:45
could utilise their funds in a more organised, pragmatic manner and be paid for performance on
01:50
results, rather than just giving rhetoric speeches that really, with the next government
01:54
that we're currently facing under the new leadership, could it be we wait another 20
01:58
years before we see the real change? So change, after all, is automatic. Progress is in and
02:04
after all, we really pray for the people that are in this country.
