00:00So, as ever, it has been a very busy week in the city of Bristol with loads on, so can

00:05you tell me what is our first top news story this week?

00:09Well, a popular gaming shop and cafe reopened its doors this weekend after three months

00:16since it closed. Geek Retreat on St Augustine's Parade reopened on Saturday, July 27th under

00:24new management. The venue has been renovated ahead of the reopening and competitions, giveaways

00:31and other fun activities were held during the grand reopening.

00:36That sounds like a very exciting one for a Bristol business. Shall we move on to our

00:41second top news story? Tell me about that.

00:46First Bus has announced some new routes from September. A new service 50 will be running

00:52hourly Monday to Saturday and provide a direct city link to Franchet and Stapleton Village.

00:59The 70 series of bus services will extend some of its routes south into its Hengrove

01:06depot ahead of the arrival of the 74 electric buses in the city in 2025.

01:26Well, a fleet of hot air balloons took off from College Green to mark the countdown to

01:31the annual Bristol Balloon Fiesta. The iconic Hot Air Balloon Festival is scheduled to take

01:37place from August 9 to 11 at Ashton Court. Over 120 hot air balloons have registered

01:44to attend this year's event with mass ascents scheduled at dawn and just before dusk daily

01:51if weather conditions allow. Wednesday's event raised the curtain to this year's 46th

01:56Balloon Fiesta from College Green.
