Cowboys Practice Report: Trevon Diggs returns in 7 on 7 drills

Bryan Broaddus is still in Oxnard and he's attending every practice the Cowboys will hold out there. He discussed today's practice where we saw Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs return to 7 on 7 drills as he returns from his ACL tear from last season.

00:19Yeah.

00:20I've been waiting to hear what, how did he look?

00:21How were things?

00:22The visor was, the pictures looked good.

00:25Yeah.

00:26Digs practice.

00:27He didn't do the team period stuff.

00:29He did seven on seven.

00:31So we were kind of waiting for him.

00:33I talked to some people in the front office about this.

00:36When are you going to put him out there?

00:38They were saying, Hey, we're going to take our time with this.

00:41We're going to try and ramp him up and let him be a part of this.

00:45We kind of felt like that maybe the full practice would be a little bit later, uh, later on,

00:51but he did go out there in the seven on seven period and competed a little bit.

00:56Uh, you know, it's kind of, you know, got to the movement part of it.

01:01He's just kind of, kind of feeling his way a little bit, not really trying to do anything

01:05near crazy out there, but he was out there practicing.

01:09Let's see if you do a little bit more tomorrow, um, you know, and with the team, but he, he

01:13did not do anything where it was 11 on 11.

01:17It was only seven on seven.

01:19How was the quickness and the change in direction?

01:21You know what Dawson, it was, he, he really, I don't think he cut it loose from what I

01:26was, you know, I, it was like, it was pedal and then it was break and it was move it.

01:32There wasn't anything like really driving on a ball or trying to not, it's almost like

01:37he went out there to say, okay, let me get a feel for what these routes are looking like,

01:42or if, how can I, how could I pedal and how quick are these guys getting on me in order

01:48to, you know, to, to get an idea of the, of the speed, because that's where it really

01:55looked.

01:56Like I say, it wasn't like, okay, I'm going to carry a guy down the field or I'm going

01:59to carry a guy across.

02:00It was like, let me just get a little bit of a feel, uh, uh, of how the speed of the

02:06practice was going to be.

02:07Because when he went out, uh, Nation right came in and it was playing as that, uh, as

02:14that right cornerback.

02:16So it was just an opportunity to get him some work in the seven on seven.

02:20He did.

02:21Let's see if he'll do a little bit more tomorrow.
