00:11In Victoria, an estimated population of 60 million rabbits is causing damage to more than a million hectares of farmland every 12 months.

00:20Rabbits are highly reproductive and a single pair can produce up to 184 offspring within an 18 month period.

00:27It means the state needs a staggering 400 kilometres of rabbit proof fencing.

00:31Agriculture Victoria gives a four step approach to managing rabbits called the Rabbit Recipe.

00:37This involves allowing biological control and natural mortality to reduce the rabbit population,

00:43baiting to reduce numbers, destroying warrens known as ripping and lastly following up with fumigation and further warren destruction.
