Gateshead Manager Rob Elliot was keen to praise midfielder Regan Booty following the two assists he provided in the Heed’s 2-1 over Eastleigh on Saturday. Daniel Wales reports.

00:13how many assists he's got this year, how many goal involvements, but that's huge for us

00:17and playing that deeper role, he's worked defensively, he was incredible and he puts

00:21every week an unbelievable physical shift in, so yeah, he's just a brilliant player,

00:32brilliant person and I think the thing with Regan is he just needs to make sure that he

00:35understands what he's doing, because he's 26 now, is that he understands his strengths

00:39and makes sure he keeps working on them because when he has the ball, we have so many different

00:43options where we can threaten the back line, we can play short, we can go wide and it really

00:47makes things difficult for teams, so we just need to keep on that.

00:50After six games, Gateshead sit top of the National League, with four wins and two draws,

00:56scoring 14 goals so far.
