00:00London's Borough Market, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the

00:05capital and also a hotspot for locals working nearby to grab some lunch. When

00:12you enter the Borough Market from the London Bridge station side, you're

00:15greeted by almost artisanal stores from bagel shops to sweet stands selling all

00:20kinds of licorice. It's difficult to get past all the amazing looking pastries

00:25and looking at all the amazing kinds of fudge on offer, but all these stands

00:30don't even scratch the surface of what's on offer in Borough Market. As you

00:36venture deeper into London's version of a bizarre market, it's a sensory overload.

00:41Everywhere you look you see different food stands, the aromas are almost

00:46overwhelming. One of the first places you see is the world-famous Fish and Chip

00:52Stall, an award-winning stand selling a British staple. Definitely more popular

00:57with people on holiday, but opposite is a new stall taking the market by storm

01:02selling mushroom risotto. The mushrooms are cooked in a large skillet and slowly

01:07added to another huge pan filled with risotto. It really did look incredible.

01:14Talking of big skillets, a little further in is the ever-popular Paella

01:19stand. Huge batches of sweet crusty rice are being cooked and queues down an

01:25entire row for this one. It's definitely one of the most in-demand dishes in the

01:29market, but back and next to the mushroom risotto is a bakery and the donuts here

01:35are supposed to be the thing to try, so I had to. There really were just too many

01:41choices from creme brulee donuts to Nutella, but I decided to try a lemon

01:46curd donut, an underrated flavour in my opinion, and it was amazing. The bread was

01:51really light, the curd was sweet and sharp, it was definitely spot-on. I'd

01:56recommend it. But coming up the other side of Borough Market you see fruit

02:00stands, veg stands, salt beef sandwiches and butcher shops, but as you follow the

02:04windy paths outside you approach the iconic seating stand. Out here is where

02:11the savoury options come into their own, with anything from Iraqi dishes to small

02:16plates of Japanese food like gyozas and ramen. There's also Indian street food, a

02:23Tel Aviv market and sandwich shops. This particular stall is a big favourite for

02:27Londoners on their lunch breaks. Borough Market is a staple of London's culture,

02:34so much so that records of the site date back till around the 12th century and

02:39over 800 years later it's still going strong. But up until a few decades ago it

02:45was purely a wholesaler's market and these days it's open to the public and

02:49now it's one of the most popular destinations in the capital. For more
