00:00We're really pleased and proud to be part of the Brick by Brick campaign with Refuge

00:12and The Independent, providing a home for a survivor of domestic abuse. We recognise

00:17the importance of home to people and building homes in communities. And so, given the need

00:23for homes like the one that we're building here as part of Brick by Brick, we thought

00:28this feels like exactly the type of brilliant initiative that we should support as well.

00:37The actual construction itself takes around six months. You obviously want to make sure

00:42you're building a high quality home. We have tens of workers who work on any home at any

00:48one time. Lots of skilled trade from the start, from the slab right through to obviously handing

00:53the keys over. We organise the construction from top to bottom. We even in some places

00:59produce our own bricks and tiles and manufacture our own timber frame as well. So we have our

01:05own factories that help us with the production of some houses.

01:09We've got the foundation itself has given a grant towards the home. The foundation's

01:15given £25,000. Foundation, again, is something Persimmon itself is really proud of. There's

01:21charitable aims around helping people in disadvantage. So this fits squarely with

01:26what we're looking to do and the types of people we're looking to support. So again,

01:31the foundation was only happy to provide that grant.

01:34People should get behind this because it's such a great campaign. Government support

01:38really only starts once people are in a home and therefore there is a real need for more

01:44homes, which is why Persimmon was only so happy to get involved and help provide a home

01:50for this campaign.

01:51I think it'll be a moment of real pride. I mean, as I say, I know that from top to

01:56bottom this is a campaign that colleagues across the business have been really touched

02:02by, thought this is exactly the type of company that they want to work for. They want Persimmon

02:08to be doing things like this. So when the home is built, it will be that moment of pride

02:14for us all.
