Southwest has canceled over 15,700 flights after a winter storm began disrupting flights on Dec. 22. The company’s CEO, Bob Jordan, says they are “optimistic to be back on track before next week” as flights continue to be canceled. #news

00:08up in a massive effort to stabilize the airline, to know that we're doing everything we

00:13can to return to a normal operation.

00:16And please also hear that I'm truly sorry.

00:19With our large fleet of airplanes and flight crews out of position in dozens of locations,

00:24and after days of trying to operate as much of our full schedule across the busy holiday

00:29weekend, we reached a decision point to significantly reduce our flying to catch up.

00:35Our plan for the next few days is to fly a reduced schedule and reposition our people

00:40and planes, and we're making headway and we're optimistic to be back on track before

00:46next week.

00:47We have some real work to do in making this right.
