Updated video shows Manor Social Club ablaze on City Road, Sheffield, as firefighters battle the flames

00:00This was the scene at a well-known Sheffield club on Sunday night.

00:05Firefighters were sent out to Manor Social Club after the venue was seen to be alight.

00:10Nearby residents were urged to keep windows and doors closed because of the smoke.

00:15City Road was closed while South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service dealt with the incident

00:20and police were also at the scene.

00:23The Manor Social Club closed earlier this year

00:26Police understood firefighters have had to visit the site several times in recent weeks.

00:31The venue has been described by eyewitnesses as gutted.

00:34Firefighters still have a couple of fire engines at the site damping down.

00:39An investigation into the cause will take place once the fire is completely out,

00:43said a spokesman for the fire service.
