00:00Screams of anguish from the family of 14-year-old Zaheer Samuel.
00:29Zaheer's armed men snatched him from the family's S&S plant and garden supply shop on the eastern
00:34main road in St Augustine, just before the crack of dawn.
00:38Police say his kidnappers pointed a gun at the teenager's head and quickly bundled him
00:42into a brown station wagon and drove off.
00:46At daybreak, friends and relatives gathered outside the plant shop, lending support and
00:51praying for his release.
00:53His father wasn't in a state of mind then to speak with the media about the harrowing
00:58ordeal.
00:59But later, he mustered up the courage to speak with a Newsday journalist who arrived later
01:04on the scene, making this plea to his son's captors.
01:23The father said his son attends St George's College in Barataria and is in Form 3.
01:48He also said that the family wasn't wealthy.
01:51An elderly relative of the young boy said Zaheer had been helping his family with the
01:55plant business ever since he was two years old.
01:58The relative said the news had not gone down well with the rest of the family.
02:17Investigators told TV6 News that they are pursuing specific leads related to the kidnapping
02:21of the teenager and believe that a specific gang may have been responsible for this latest
02:27incident.
02:28Sources say that the boy's kidnapping could have been related to some kind of land dispute,
02:32but they are also pursuing two other theories.
