Hello, my name is Luke Patrick. I'm a reporter for the Lancashire Post and the Blackpool Gazette.
00:05
Here is a daily bulletin. The Met Office issued yellow weather warning for heavy and persistent
00:10
snow in your area. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for northwest England
00:16
including Blackburn with Darwin, Blackpool, Cumbria, Greater Manchester and Lancashire.
00:23
Forecasting heavy and persistent snow across the region which may bring disruption on Wednesday
00:29
during both the day and the night. The extreme conditions which are forecast for 9am on
00:34
Wednesday January 1st and 3am on Thursday January 2nd could cause power cuts and interference to
00:40
other services such as phone coverage, travel delays on roads, cancelled rail or air travel
00:45
and could result in some rural communities being cut off. Lancashire Police appeal after a man in
00:51
his 80s suffered serious injuries in road collision. Lancashire Police are appealing
00:56
for witnesses and footage after a man suffered serious injuries in a collision. The collision
01:03
occurred in Pilling on December 28th in which a man suffered serious injuries. Officers were called
01:09
at 10.13am on December 28th to Lancaster Road at the junction with Taylors Lane in Pilling following
01:14
reports of a road traffic collision. When they attended they found that a Jaguar X-type car had
01:19
left the road and collided with a workshop building. Severe disruption expected on the
01:24
Lancashire Rail line after a Christmas theft of £100,000 power cables. Severe disruption is
01:30
expected on one of Lancashire's busiest rail lines after power cables worth £100,000 were stolen over
01:35
Christmas. Network Rail has warned passengers to be prepared for delays to services travelling
01:41
between Chorley and Bolton throughout Sunday following the theft, with the rail operator
01:45
forced to close the line in order to replace the cables and carry out tests on the system before
01:50
reopening. Retrained suppressed and also impacted Network Rail says they are working with local
01:56
police to find the culprits who have stolen cables having previously provided electrical power to the
02:01
new overhead line equipment installed as part of the new electrification of the line between Wigan
02:06
and Bolton. £10 million Marks and Spencers moved from Blackburn Town to Iser Brothers Frontier Park
02:12
back on the table. Proposals to replace Blackpool's Town Centre's Marks and Spencers store with a £10.1
02:19
M&S food hall on the Iser Brothers Frontier Park are back on the table after hitting a major high
02:24
cot hitch in September. The legal block means that the planning process for the retailer's
02:29
new outlet off the M65 had to rerun from the beginning. Now Monte Blackburn, the property
02:34
owned by Mosin & Zuber's Iser Business Empire which owns Frontier Park just across the border
02:39
from Blackpool and Richland has started the new assessment of the scheme.
