Steve Bruce shares disappointment after Blackpool's draw with Shrewsbury

Blackpool's 2025 got off to an underwhelming start after drawing 1-1 with Shrewsbury Town at Bloomfield Road.

00:00What's the mood like in Manchester United at the moment?

00:02Disappointment. We're all disappointed, the crowd are disappointed, I'm disappointed, we're all are because of how well we played in St Andrews.

00:11And unfortunately, we've got that annoying habit of playing well and then not sustaining it, especially at home, which is deeply frustrating.

00:21Yeah, how hard is that to take when you play so well against Birmingham, you look like a team who could be up there.

00:25Yeah, absolutely, and how many teams have we gone away from home and the various people have said how well we've played.

00:31And at home, to be fair, teams are coming and sitting deep against us and we'll find it very, very difficult to create anything going forward.

00:40And you think a moment of quality like that from Rob and CJ is the thing to get going?

00:45Well look, CJ has been out for a long, long time and we've missed him when he comes into the team.

00:50Even though he's made a mistake today, he's a thread going the other way, which is always his strength.

00:56And as for the other lads, EJ's come back, Sonny Kerr's come back, how close are the others who've been at Man Utd?

01:01I think everybody, apart from Beazley, is in and around it. So I think we've got something like 25, 26 training on Friday and tomorrow.

01:10So that can only be good for us.

01:13When's Beazley expected back to action?

01:15Maybe by the end of next week, we'll see him on the training ground and that'll be good to have him available too.

01:21I know it was two weeks with Josh Otterman, so what about him?

01:24He's the same, he's the same. He's training and part of it, so he's in and around it as well.

01:31And with Josh, I've got to ask, when are those contract talks due to take place with him over extension?

01:35I think in the middle of the month I would have thought. I think that's where they all are.

01:41Obviously I leave it now to David, but I think it's the middle of the month.
