People of Glasgow share their New Year’s resolutions for 2025

We take to Argyle St to ask the people of Glasgow their hopes and goals for 2025.

00:00New Year's resolutions, go to the gym twice a week would be it.

00:02Be happy, be happy, appreciate who you're with and just value the little things in life

00:08rather than just big things, the day to day things.

00:11There's nothing really that I've done last year that I wish to change this year,

00:16so pretty much the same, everyone to be happy, peaceful, nice to each other.

00:22Stop swearing.

00:23Career goals, probably get my job. I'm an apprentice now so I should probably get my job.

00:28Get a driving licence is one of the top things I know, but apart from that not much.

00:31Get all my credit cards paid off.

00:38Work harder, just enjoy life.

00:42I'm doing a dry January, but don't start till Monday, until I get home.

00:48Trying to lose a bit more weight than he is, yeah.

00:50Yeah, but I'm going on holiday for the first time on the flight for 50 years,

00:56on a plane, so I'm a bit nervous about that, so I'm looking forward to that.

01:00Then if I do that I'm going to go to Australia and see my son.

01:04Always will be Australia, but I've got to save some money first,

01:08and he's going in June so that don't really count.

01:10I'm off for a month to Australia at the end of June to watch the lions tour.

01:16You know there's too much countries going to war with one another, it should all stop,

01:21and I've noticed, I'm from this part of the world, I'm from up north,

01:26but I've noticed that there shouldn't be homelessness anymore.

01:30I don't know how the government could sort this out,

01:34but I've seen a lot of homeless since I've come here and I don't think it's right.

01:38Whereabouts are you going on your holiday?

01:40Gran Canaria.

01:42Gran Canaria, oh amazing.

01:44So what's made you do that this year then?

01:46Because I'm getting old now, and my daughter and all my family go every year

01:51and I'm left behind sort of thing, so I just wanted to try it.

01:56Yeah I'll be back home tomorrow, so I'll spend time with my family and that.
