FBI says New Orleans suspect acted alone

00:00We just heard from the FBI in the last 30 minutes or so. What have they said? What's

00:05the update?

00:06So, the FBI assistant director has clarified that the overall number of dead is 15. Fourteen

00:13of those are victims of this horrible rampage attack. One is the suspect himself. They've

00:19also said that because of their tip hotline, which they put out in the early hours of yesterday,

00:24that they've had over 400 tips come into them about potential related activities to

00:30what happened in New Orleans in the early hours of New Year's Day. They said it's taken

00:34a while to get through all that evidence, but they encourage people to keep coming forward.

00:39In particular, anyone that may have been around the site of the attack, because that is where

00:44they found two coolers with IEDs inside, explosive devices that they have confirmed were in coolers

00:52on the street where the attack took place. So, they're trying to piece together how those

00:57coolers ended up there. One important point to note, though, from the FBI is that they

01:02are now saying that Jabba acted alone. They are confirming it's a terrorist act and that

01:07they believe he acted alone. They believe in that case, presumably, that he was the

01:12one to put the coolers there with the IEDs, but they're asking for more witnesses to come

01:16forward to clarify when that happened.
