An Assistant Commissioner of Police says the prayers of the police are stronger than those of the criminals, as it has been a week since State of Emergency took effect in this country.

This as the Police Service announced its latest seizure of three illegal firearms and accompanying ammunition and gave a reminder of the powers granted to the TTPS during the SoE.

00:00On day seven of the state of emergency in Trinidad and Tobago, the police service
00:04sought to make clear to the public via a Facebook post that under the emergency
00:09powers regulations for the SOE, a police officer may arrest without warrant any
00:14person who is acting, has acted or is about to act in a manner prejudicial to
00:19public safety. Earlier on Monday, the TTPS announced via Facebook that six
00:24suspects were arrested and three firearms seized by officers doing
00:28anti-crime exercises conducted in the Northeastern, Central and Port of Spain
00:34divisions on Sunday into Monday morning. The TTPS said its officers involved in
00:39those exercises seized one Glock pistol loaded with a magazine containing six
00:44rounds of ammunition and one spent shell, one pistol loaded with a magazine
00:49containing six rounds of ammunition and one pistol loaded with 12 rounds of
00:53ammunition. The TTPS quoted Assistant Commissioner of Police Tactical Support
00:58Collette Hazel as having said, quote, the criminal elements may be praying to not
01:04be brought to justice but our prayers are stronger and we are backing it up
01:08with strong determined police work. They would do well to remember that no
01:14weapon formed against the TTPS and the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago shall
