Transcript
00:00Today, I was part of a very historic development.
00:07I had listened to Sir Ellis speak about the transition from Williams to George Chambers.
00:14I had witnessed other transitions in the PNM leading up to Dr. Rowley.
00:20But today was pristine, and I can tell you I was elated.
00:26I was proud of my colleagues.
00:28Minister of National Security Fitzgerald Hines said the implications of the next choice to be Prime Minister was looked at in great detail.
00:37We had thorough discussions, looking at every angle, all of the implications.
00:43And we came smoothly, in true, solid PNM fashion, to the position where we are at.
00:53And I will now say, whenever I, Fitzgerald Hines, say great is the PNM and it shall prevail, I should be able to say so henceforth with a new meaning.
01:06Minister Hines said the PNM was at its best today.
01:11Because I saw the PNM, its leadership, its caucus, at its pristine political and organizational best.
01:23Great is the PNM, and we shall prevail.
01:26And we will continue to provide the service to the people of Trinidad and Tobago, as has been required by them more than any other party, into the foreseeable future.
01:38Elizabeth Williams, TV6 News.
