00:00The Bears have sought permission to interview Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy and are awaiting a response from Dallas.

00:07If the Cowboys don't allow permission this week, no worries.

00:11The Bears could interview McCarthy after his exclusive negotiating window with Dallas expires on January 14th.

00:19That is exactly one week from today.

00:22His exclusive negotiating window? What is that legal jargon?

00:26It just means that Mike McCarthy no longer has a contract with the Cowboys organization as of next week.

00:34The whole thing is very, very weird.

00:37But, to be fair, the Bears also requested interviews from, I believe, Todd Munkin.

00:43So there's a few guys there still.

00:46Well, they seem to be interviewing everyone like the Jets do here.

00:49But I'm going to be very interested to see if this moves the needle with Jerry.

00:53Does this make Jerry want to hurry up and maybe sign him, work out a deal?

00:58It wasn't like Jerry set him up for success.

01:01I mean, they didn't do anything in the offseason to improve the roster.

01:05But they also didn't extend him.

01:07So I don't know what any of it means in Dallas with Jerry calling the shots right now.
