00:13That when he got the job that was the plan for him to come in and be the head coach

00:17Well clearly Robert Kraft not happy with that succession plan because after one year he's already made the change

00:23Rabel is the name that's naturally going to be mentioned and there'll be some others as well a

00:28Really tough deal for Gerard Mayo here it kind of

00:32It really wasn't his decision to become the head coach

00:34It was sort of predetermined

00:36But now it seems like they just sort of yanked the rug out from under him and saying hey look

00:39We didn't sign up for that. It was Belichick that signed up for that and we're not gonna honor that agreement

00:44But maybe Mayo could go to North Carolina. That would be my guess

00:48Right. I think Mayo is gonna land somewhere

00:50He needs more seasoning before he's going to be a head coach and Robert Kraft does seem to did seem to have belief in him

00:57I believe the hardest decision of his life to move on from Mayo after just one season

01:01But what it boils down to is he wasn't ready to be a head coach

01:04You saw that just in his interactions with certain players in the media. There would be

01:09basically times where he would answer a question about a strategy and then immediately contradict himself the next day or

01:16He would say Antonio Gibson is gonna start this game and then Ravondre Stevenson would start the game and you wouldn't understand exactly why

01:23So it felt kind of like he was just trying to figure out how to do things and just with the talent on that roster

01:31Which there really just isn't much especially on offense outside of Drake. Hey

01:35Anyone with this team was going to have trouble so having an inexperienced head coach who wasn't ready just wasn't the right

01:42Right situation for Mayo. So I think moving off from it makes sense for both parties. Mayo's gonna land on his feet

01:47He'll maybe get a second chance somewhere down the line and from the Patriots standpoint

01:52You're looking at Mike Rables out there

01:54I think that he's a perfect candidate for this team and he'll be able to elevate things

01:59But I want to see exactly where they end up interviewing for offensive candidates
