Have you lost faith in the police?

A recent survey found that 52% of Brits no longer trust the police. So we’re asking people in Cardiff why they think that is, and what they think would fix it.

00:00I think they have too much paperwork to do as well.

00:03They should be, let's say, more people on the beat

00:06to deal with everyday things

00:09rather than all this paperwork they have to get on with.

00:13I think they should have more local community officers,

00:16people who are from the areas

00:18and who know the people and are like...

00:21Yeah, I'd say it could be built back, depending on what they do.

00:25But for now, I'd say for the police to sort...

00:29sort the UK out, sort Wales out,

00:32and they'll go back to the way it used to be.

00:35I totally understand, yeah, and agree, yeah, 100%.

00:39There's too much going on now, isn't there?

00:41Too many stabbings, you know, there's too much going on.

00:44You don't see the police like you used to see the police.

00:47It's not necessarily what you do.

00:49Being visible is really important.

00:51It gives people confidence and you can see they're there

00:53and that makes other people accountable.

00:55But, yeah, I can see why people are a little bit worried

00:58about the lack of presence in the street.
