"We will continue to come here till the government accepts all our demands. It's a fight to the finish," says Manjeet Kaur, who was a part of the sit-in protest at Shambhu, a prominent toll point at the Haryana-Punjab border on NH-44 that has been closed since February 2024. Hundreds of farmers have been coming here for the past one year from different district of Punjab and Haryana. Significantly, 80-100 women are present at Shabhu at any point in time. They actively participate in the protests by attending meetings and by being a part of protest-related events. They say they will continue to come to Shambhu participate till all their demads are met.
