00:00The Film Development Council of the Philippines continues to encourage international productions

00:06to choose the Philippines, especially since the film industry has the ability to help more Filipinos.

00:13This is what Rod Lagusan wrote.

00:17To help the economy of the country and to give jobs to Filipinos.

00:23This is in line with the expected benefits and time that the Philippines has as a premier filmmaking destination.

00:30According to the Film Development Council of the Philippines Chairman and CEO, Jose Javier Reyes,

00:35this is what the agency continues to push to encourage international productions in the Philippines.

00:41This is in the middle of a tight competition, especially since other countries are allocating for us.

00:46Under the Film Location Incentive Program,

00:49a 20% cash rebate or up to P25 million can be given to on-location projects in the Philippines.

00:56As for the International Co-Production Fund, the incentive is up to P10 million.

01:01I think the government is slowly realizing the importance of filmmaking.

01:05If a production goes here, how many ancillary businesses make money out of that?

01:10And I'm not only talking about the production houses and the likes,

01:14transportation, catering, you know, when you go to a town, the accommodations and all that.

01:19There are so many affected.

01:20We expect that there will be good film technicians in the country.

01:24And even if it's an English-speaking country, the language barrier won't be a problem.

01:29What's our problem? Our neighbors are rich.

01:33And it's really cheap. And I'm not kidding.

01:35When you go to the film market, it's cheap.

01:38So we need to be strong. We need to have a strong heart and prepare what we have to offer.

01:43Also included in their proposal is the creation of a one-stop shop for the creation of a streamlined process.

01:49For example, the creation of a permit.

01:51This is in the creation of memorandum of agreements with various agencies,

01:55from entering the country to locations and security.

01:59The application for the first cycle for the Film Location Incentive Program

02:03and International Co-Production Fund is from January 27 to February 21,

02:08which will be announced in March.

02:10While for Cycle 2, it's from July 7 to 25, which will be announced in August.

02:16Meanwhile, the Restoration Agency has also approved

02:19more old films that are part of the history of the country.

02:23At the moment, they are just waiting for the availability of equipment for this.

02:27People's training will follow,

02:29so that FDCP can restore more Filipino films.
