00:00Najib Razak's lawyer, Shafi Abdullah, said the former prime minister will file an application

00:07to initiate contempt proceedings against former Attorney General Ahmad Tereruddin Saleh.

00:13He said the basis of the application was Tereruddin's alleged failure to reveal the former king's

00:18royal addendum, allowing Najib to serve the remainder of his jail sentence under house

00:23arrest.

00:24Shafi told a press conference at the Palace of Justice today that the contempt action

00:29would be filed by Friday at the latest.

00:32Last month, Shafi told the Court of Appeal that the addendum was sent by the palace to

00:36Tereruddin on January 29, 2024.

00:40Tereruddin, who was appointed as a federal court judge in November, evaded queries from

00:46reporters on the matter.

00:48Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim confirmed that Tereruddin received the addendum, but said

00:52it was sent back to Istanbul after Sultan Ibrahim became the 17th Yandi Pertuan Agho.
