01:02I have been an OG fan of Bridgerton.

01:05I'm so excited for Season 4.

01:07Tell me, what do you think it is that keeps making us want to come back for more?

01:11You know, something that's really special about the show is just getting to reinvent

01:14it every season.

01:16You know, a lot of times, especially with romances, if people are getting together,

01:20breaking up, getting back together, you lose steam.

01:23But we get to craft these perfect little happy endings.

01:27And then we get to move on to another couple and tell a story with a different tone.

01:32And that's just pure joy.

01:34And how important is it getting the right cast?

01:37Hugely.

01:38That's everything.

01:39You know, I think romance stories are made or broken on the chemistry of the leads.

01:44And, you know, it would be pretty hard not to have chemistry with Luke Thompson.

01:48But it was important that someone match his level.

01:52Because as a performer, he is a very strong presence.

01:56And as a character, he's also someone who has lived a lot of life.

02:01So even though Sophie is someone who has been sheltered in a lot of ways, we needed to feel

02:07like she had deep inner strength to go toe to toe with him.

03:04What do you think it is that keeps making us want to come back for more?

03:08Gosh.

03:09I think it's because everyone wants to fall in love.

03:12And it's something everyone can relate to.

03:14A lot of dramas would be driven by violence or crime.

03:19Politics.

03:20Not many of us come into touch with that.

03:22But most of us want to and can fall in love.

03:26And have that yearning.

03:29So it's completely relatable.

03:31I think all the fox as well.

03:33And the balls and the glamorous side of that.

03:37It's wonderful to immerse yourself into.

03:40What is the Queen going to be wearing this season?

03:43That kind of vibe.

03:44And I think we do it really, really well with this show.

03:47And on that note, I am desperate to be Queen Charlotte's Diamond of the Season.

03:53What does it take?

03:54What does she look for?

03:56Gosh.

03:57I think she looks for something that she recognises possibly within herself.

04:04Possibly within her own world.

04:07I think she's very much an empowerment person.

04:13I think that's really important.

04:15So having Hannah last season as the Diamond,

04:21Charlotte saw an independence there.

04:25Charlotte saw somebody who didn't give a about society all the time.

04:31And I think that intrigued her.

04:34So it's something that is out of the norm of what society would think.

04:42Which sparks that curiosity.

05:14but how much of an honour is it for you getting to step into the Bridgerton world?

05:19Oh my gosh, it's a massive honour.

05:21And there's a lot of pressure laying on my shoulders and pressing me down.

05:26But I'm just trying to stay truthful to the story

05:29And I'm just trying to stay truthful to the story

05:31and truthful to the character from the book that people love.

05:35And I'm just trying to do a good job.

05:38You're absolutely well. I've got faith in you.

05:40And what was it like when you got that call telling you that you got the part?

05:44Tears.

05:45Tears, jumping, screaming.

05:48People on the sidewalk were like, what's wrong with that girl?

05:51But it was just that kind of news you don't get very often.

05:55Especially for a show like Bridgerton.

05:57So it really was like a dream come true.

06:00Absolutely. And what are you feeling the pressure the most about?

06:02Is it the fact that it's going to be the love story?

06:05It's going to be focused on you?

06:06Yeah, yeah, yeah.

06:07I think it's because a lot of the fans love the book so much.

06:12I hope that we do it justice enough and that it translates on screen.

06:18But also that I hope fans are happy with the chemistry that Luke and I have

06:23as Sophie and Benedict, or Benefee.

06:26So yeah.

06:27And finally, it feels like Bridgerton has just one big family.

06:30I'm sure they've welcomed you with open arms.

06:32Yeah, everyone.

06:34Genuinely what you see on social media is what you get.

06:36Because I was a bit like, is this real?

06:39But it genuinely is.

06:40Everyone is so, so, so sweet and so kind.

06:44And work doesn't feel like work.

07:28We were talking with Flo, actually.

07:31Florence plays Hyacinth.

07:33She was saying, is this the longest part you've ever played?

07:37And I was, yeah, I mean, obviously.

07:38I've played this part for six years now.

07:40It's probably the longest part I'll ever play, you know, in terms of like that.

07:44So it's amazing to get that sort of long run up

07:47and then to be able to, you know, tell the story in full Technicolor,

07:51I think it's really exciting.

07:53And let's get all lovey-dovey about Bridgerton

07:55because it's Valentine's Day, why not?

07:57What has this role and being a part of this world and this show meant to you?

08:02It's huge. It's huge.

08:04I think as an actor, what you want to do is live in people's imaginations.

08:12That's sort of like the lovely thing about the job.

08:15And to get to do that on that scale, to live in millions of people's imaginations,

08:21I mean, it's life-changing.

08:24And it feels like it's just so fulfilling.

08:27It's probably like the most, I feel like, a very fulfilled actor.

08:31And tell me, what is the secret to the Bridgerton chemistry?

08:35Because it's insane.

08:37Good casting.

08:38I think it's just sensitive, careful, thought-through casting.

08:43So there's a whole team behind it that are very carefully building,

08:46not just in terms of physical resemblance,

08:48but also just finding that team that will work.

08:53So, yeah, it's them.

08:55Well, I need to let you get on, but I cannot wait to see what's in store.
