00:00Trade relations between the Philippines and Papua New Guinea have been intensified.

00:05The aim is to further strengthen the economic ties between the two countries.

00:09Beya Gaza de Guzman of Radyo Pilipinas has news for the country.

00:16We are trying to intensify this because our economic diplomacy and economic relations are important to us.

00:25We need to expand our economic relations, our trade and trade exchanges with Papua New Guinea.

00:34The relationship between the Philippines and Papua New Guinea is being strengthened.

00:39This is what Philippine Ambassador to Papua New Guinea Edgar Tomas Occilian said on Radyo Pilipinas.

00:45In their partnership, the two countries have a Memorandum of Understanding on Fisheries Cooperation.

00:51According to the government's data in 2024,

00:54there are four main distant water fishing companies in the Philippines that operate in the PNG Sea.

01:01These are Frabel Fishing Corporation, RD Fishing Group, TSP Marine Industries and Transpacific Journey Fishing Corporation.

01:09The 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and the PNG has been celebrated in 2025.

01:17These initiatives and programs are just one of the directives of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

01:23to strengthen diplomatic relations between the two countries.

01:27His goal is to get more opportunities and to build a stronger economy in the Philippines.
