Brit moves to Australia on a work visa to complete jobs that no one wants to do

A British traveller has launched a business in Australia doing jobs people avoid, including cleaning and gardening.  George Redfern, 21, from Wirral, Merseyside, arrived in Perth in February 2025 and struggled to find work.  While tidying his girlfriend’s family garden, he realised he could turn it into a business.  He founded CBA Jobs on March 5 and has since earned $700 doing tasks like window cleaning and car washing.  George said he enjoys the work, with customers rebooking him, and finds it rewarding to help those in need.

00:05I was cleaning the garden because I was bored waiting to hear back from jobs when an idea

00:10popped in my head that I can do jobs for people that don't have time to do those jobs or don't

00:15want to.

00:16With no money at all, I created a Facebook page and asked the customers if I can use

00:21their equipment.

00:22Within hours, I had five customers that wanted me to clean up their garden and use their

00:27equipment.

00:28With my first job, I earned $115 for four hours work.

00:33With that money, I started buying gardening equipment and work gear.

00:36And then my second job, I earned $135 using their equipment as well.

00:42Prior to my jobs, I had no gardening experience at all.

00:45It was all learned on the job.

00:47Now I have a bit of money in my pocket, I can buy more equipment and put my prices up.

00:52As Simon Squibb says, you don't need money to start a business.

00:56This is a prime example of that.
