Abandoned Pitties Stuck In A Canal In The Rain Get Rescued

They were SO scared at first — wait to see how wiggly they are now. Michelle told us about rescuing these pitties from a canal on Christmas day, and that they're both looking for their forever families!

00:00I got a call that there were two dogs in the 17th Street Canal.

00:04Merry Christmas to Michelle and I.

00:06We're going to have to get these guys out of the canal.

00:09Like, oh, they're not going to survive in that long.

00:10It's a torrential rain coming in.

00:13Hi, little babies.

00:14Hi.

00:16How'd y'all fall in the canal?

00:17It is such a common place for people to dump animals.

00:20There's no way in and there's no way out.

00:21Come on, let's get out of the canal before it gets too wet.

00:26Hi.

00:27Merry Christmas, little puppies.

00:29When we first got there, their barks were scared barks.

00:32We got some treats.

00:34Come on, I know.

00:36You're too cute.

00:36You're okay.

00:37And then once we got over into the canal with them,

00:41I noticed their barks turned a little bit higher,

00:45which usually means that, hey, you're not as scary as I thought you were.

00:50Look, here, take the can of cat food so he knows your smell.

00:53I know the babies.

00:54Come on, let's get out of the canal.

00:59It's so clean.

01:00Look at that.

01:01Oh, didn't that taste good?

01:04No.

01:04Come on.

01:06Look, they got some pockets floating by too.

01:08Want some more?

01:08It's so cold, I know.

01:10Oh, there we go.

01:10Oh, step across.

01:12We made it.

01:13We were able to convince Francis to come across first.

01:20And then Norman, being the little baby that he is, said,

01:22don't leave me here and jumped across the deepest part of the canal.

01:27Step two was then now get them safely into the van and then safely into our rescue building.

01:33Who's a good girl?

01:36Who's a good boy, Norman?

01:38We got them fixed, and we got them all their shots,

01:40and we got them microchipped, and they're ready for adoption now.

01:44They're unflappable with their happiness.

01:46Oh, you're so stylish.

01:47I know.

01:48They love to be in the sunshine and will just lay out like a cat in the sun.
