Following one report of inordinate delays at the St. Joseph Community Centre on day 1 of special voting, voters at that location today told CCN TV6, the process was smooth and event-free. Meantime, some persons opted to leave a Port of Spain polling station, due to a bit of a wait time. Rynessa Cutting has more.

00:00Despite a high voter turnout on day one of special voting, day two saw a slow but steady
00:06stream of special voters at the St. Joseph Community Centre.
00:10Well, I have cast my vote at the polling station, just back then, St. Joseph Market Street.
00:17The process was relatively smooth and there was a hiccups.
00:22You go, sit down, agent call your name, the verifier address and that's it, you vote.
00:29Were you one of the people who came out yesterday attempting to vote?
00:32No, I didn't come yesterday, just came today.
00:35And it was smooth?
00:36Yes, very smooth.
00:37TV6 News observed UNC and PNM campaigners in the vicinity of the St. Joseph polling station today.
00:45TV6 News also visited the Baratario Community Centre but only observed a handful of voters
00:51who were reported a smooth process.

01:13Meantime, at least two special voters who visited the Frederick Street Port of Spain polling station
01:19today opted to visit another location upon seeing the line.
01:24I didn't wait long, but from the time I went in there, I looked at the line and I decided,
01:28okay, I'll sit down here and wait for the 10 minutes and decide if I'm going to stay.
01:33I didn't vote because it had too many people in there and I have things to do.
01:37All these seats inside, I pull up here, people on the outside, so I'm waiting to, well, no, I didn't need to go into it.
01:44Via press release on Monday night, the EBC explained that over 1,400 persons exercised their right to vote
01:52on the first day of special voting on Monday.
01:55The highest voter turnout was in the Aranguas, St. Joseph constituency,
02:00where special voters continued to wait within the polling station precinct beyond 3 p.m. to vote on that day.
02:08A total of 16,748 special voters are registered to exercise their franchise.
