Thousands of people attend ANZAC Day march in Hobart

Larger-than-usual crowds gathered in Hobart’s CBD for the annual Anzac Day march.

00:07thousands of people lined Macquarie Street to watch the procession.

00:11Despite a wet Tasmanian forecast earlier in the week, fine conditions and mild temperatures

00:16greeted participants and spectators at Tasmania's largest service in Hobart.

00:21Like marches around the country, the Royal Australian Corps of Signals led the way, marking

00:26the centenary of their formation and reflecting on the massive advances in battlefield communications.

00:31We've obviously had semaphore flags, pigeons, even had a go at dogs as couriers.

00:38Military vehicles and horses from the Tasmanian Light Horse Regiment joined hundreds of marches

00:43from the Defence Forces and community groups, recognising those who've served in wars and

00:48peacekeeping efforts around the world.
