The parade finished here at the Hobart Cenotaph with a wreath-laying ceremony, but earlier
00:07
thousands of people lined Macquarie Street to watch the procession.

Despite a wet Tasmanian forecast earlier in the week, fine conditions and mild temperatures
00:16
greeted participants and spectators at Tasmania's largest service in Hobart.
00:21
Like marches around the country, the Royal Australian Corps of Signals led the way, marking

the centenary of their formation and reflecting on the massive advances in battlefield communications.
00:31
We've obviously had semaphore flags, pigeons, even had a go at dogs as couriers.
00:38
Military vehicles and horses from the Tasmanian Light Horse Regiment joined hundreds of marches
00:43
from the Defence Forces and community groups, recognising those who've served in wars and
00:48
peacekeeping efforts around the world.
00:50
The senator for Royal Australian Air Force C-17A Globemaster III aircraft from 36 Squadron
00:56
RAAF Amberley did a low altitude fly-pass.
01:00
The atmosphere is one of reverence and one of respect.
01:04
You can really feel everybody is paying that honour towards those who have served our country
01:11
in the past and it's fantastic to be a part of that as a community.
01:16
The crowd was described as noticeably bigger than previous years, showing the ongoing importance
01:21
of remembering those who've served.
