00:00Neil, emphatic 3-0 derby day win against Aldershot. Great day, must be delighted.

00:06Yeah, delighted with a win, I'd have taken a 1-0, but you know, never in my wildest dreams would I expect it to be 3-0 up after 25 minutes.

00:16So that's great and then it becomes difficult because you know they're going to come at you and you've got to try and manage the game.

00:23I thought we did that brilliantly in the second half.

00:25Yeah, you really came out of the traps and blew them away there in those first 20 minutes, didn't you?

00:30Yeah, and unlikely scorers, we pushed Tariq up to right midfield and he scored two great goals, an unlikely scorer.

00:37But we'll take it and, like I say, I thought it was a professional performance.

00:42Everything we did wrong in the first half at Maiden, we put that right today.

00:45Yeah, presumably you would have worked on that beforehand, what you wanted to do.

00:49And so you pushed Tariq up and it was a man of the match performance as well as the two goals, wasn't it?

00:53Yeah, it's great, you know, he was excellent. And there were so many, you know, fronts who run their hearts out,

00:57the energy and tempo they played with, they were a constant menace.

01:00And you need that and that's what we reminded them before the game and that's what we got in the first half.

01:05And Dan Moss as well, obviously, getting the goal as well.

01:07Yeah, unlikely, but he was causing them problems aerially from free kicks, he won a few headers

01:12and caused problems that might have led to, I think one of them led to Tariq's goal.

01:16So, you know, we're, like I said, we take goals from anywhere.

01:19We haven't scored enough this season, which is probably why we've drawn so many.

01:22But, like I say, three games, three losses in 22 and two of them to top two, pretty good.

01:28Yeah, I mean, since you've come in just for Christmas, it is only those three losses, two against Barnett and York

01:33and 56 points now, basically safe. I mean, you must sort of be proud of how the group has sort of, you know,

01:39really done across that run.

01:40Yeah, there's loads of work to be done still, you know, the owners wants to sort of push it all forward with Jodie.

01:46We're delighted we've done our part, Simon and I, on the pitch with the team.

01:51And now it's sort of trying to work towards the summer and look at what needs to do to, you know,

01:57become a team that aren't in this position certainly next year and trying to push in that top half.

02:02And in the second half, you managed the game really well, presumably at half-time, you know, at 3-0 up,

02:05you'd have thought, well, a great first half, but it can be dangerous, obviously, if you don't manage it.

02:09Yeah, that was it. If they got a goal early, 3-1, then they'd get the momentum.

02:12And it was all about making sure we had a really good structure to our shape.

02:17We got things wrong in the first 20 minutes, certainly down this, our left there, right.

02:23But once we nullified that, we kept them pretty quiet after that.

02:27Obviously, a great day for the fans today. Obviously, bragging rights, the derby.

02:31I mean, it's great to send them home happy. I mean, did you try to sort of treat it like another game

02:35or did you sort of play on that a bit?

02:36Yeah, I just tried to work on, me and Simon tried to work on what makes us a good team

02:41and what makes us a bad team. And the first half that made Ned Bruce us at our worst.

02:45So, we went through some of that and showed them us when we were at our best.

02:48Yeah.

02:49And we started as a team that's front foot and at our best.

02:52So, I'm delighted for the fans. They've been magnificent for me since I've been here.

02:56And just, you know, after the heartbreak of what happened in the semi-final and again,

03:01I don't think the team underperformed there. I think we was up against it with what happened.

03:06I think just to give them this day, let them go home and know that we're safe.

03:12And the bragging rights is pretty special.

03:15And as you say, you've got sort of plenty to work on in the summer and two games left now.

03:18And obviously, you want to finish well at home against Eastleigh on Saturday for the home fans.

03:22And presumably, you know, challenge the players to really keep going these last two games.

03:26Yeah, we've done that. We just said them in there. Now it's about mentality.

03:29Can we play like we've got two cup finals, even though we've done what we wanted to do?

03:33And that's a challenge to the boys. So, let's see what we get.

03:37So, let's see what happens.
