Vienna-based singer-songwriter Alicia Edelweiss heads to Shoreham's Ropetackle Arts Centre on May 29 supporting Kate Young.

00:07this afternoon to speak to Alicia Edelweiss. Now, you are heading to Shoreham, aren't you,

00:11the Rope Tackle Centre, on a tour to the UK? And the UK is a place that you love playing,

00:16don't you?

00:17Yes, exactly. I've got the pleasure that I'm able to support my friend Kate Young on her

00:24tour, and one concert is going to be in Shoreham.

00:27Fantastic. And this is on the back of album number two. And you were saying with album

00:32number two, you've taken it to the next level, wanting to be so much more professional, but

00:37it's been quite stressful, you were saying?

00:40Yeah. Yeah, I mean, definitely. I'm a lot more happy with this album, because I took more

00:47time, and I'm like 100% happy with the production, which is kind of amazing. I'm not 100% happy

00:54with the mix, but it's okay. And yeah, but it's kind of left me burnt out, because I've

00:59like just been working for months and years on this album, in a way. And like the last

01:06six months, yeah.

01:08Savi?

01:09It's worth it, though, isn't it?

01:11Yeah, I think so.

01:12Yeah.

01:12It will be. It will be.

01:13Yeah.

01:13And it sounds like the album is very special, very important to you, personally.

01:19Yeah. Yeah, it definitely is. I guess every album an artist does is important to them.

01:27But I guess this one is really important to me, because it's been a while since I released

01:33like the last one. And, and I just, I did a lot of the production on my own, like, opposed

01:40to the last one. So, yeah.

01:44And to give a taste of the album, what kinds of things are you singing about on the album?

01:50Hmm. I guess there's all kinds of themes. It's very autobiographical in one way. And

02:01then there's also, like, things about, like, themes of mythology and mysticism, and also

02:08spiritual things. And, and sometimes just one song is about a certain feeling and, or one

02:15song is about a story about a person. So it's, um, yeah, very different.
