00:00Interesting that van der Broegen chose to set the tempo for much of that climb, maybe she was just hoping that she could detach as many other riders and, you know, with the agenda that she was setting and fend off and prevent Demi Wallering's attack for as long as she possibly could.
00:17Maybe she felt that the pace that she was setting might be enough to put her Francaise de Gere rival in a little bit of trouble. It certainly didn't play out like that.
00:30Inside the final kilometre now for the race leader. 22 seconds to the good, clear of Marlon Roycer.
00:42And here we go. The gap between them is about 800 metres, but now we're properly under the kite. 1,000 metres remaining for the third rider on the road.
00:53It's about, what, about 150 metres, 175 metres, something like that, of an advantage over van der Broegen.
01:08It gives you a sense of how steep it is, because really there's not much road between these riders, but the gap in time is up to 26 seconds. This is a very, very steep road.
01:19And here's the expel.
01:20Because we can put our hands towards 0,000.
01:21So Van der Broegen potentially going to be overhauled by fired up Paolena Rojakers.
01:29Three of the top four on the mountain from the Netherlands here.
01:31Exception being the exceptional Swiss rider.
01:38rider Royce it this is looking good I have to say here pace looks to be not
01:50far off that of the race leader Demi Vollering but it's
01:56Vollering that's stomping on the pedal still with with aggression and intent
02:09terrifically challenging climb and Demi Vollering knows that she's to invest
02:16heavily here she's gonna have to do it again on the final day remember we've
02:19got stage for the sprinters coming up tomorrow
02:23sprinters who will be well on this climb now and in all sorts of agony and hurt
02:32knowing that they've got to make it through to the conclusion of today to be
02:36able to get to go for that climb or that that sprint tomorrow it's to becqueryl de
02:42Campos
02:45sorry becqueryl de Campos to Baltanias
02:50sixth and penultimate stage coming tomorrow Friday
02:53inside the final 500 meters now for your race leader
02:58and Marlon Royce are doing a really really solid job of holding off
03:08Anna van der Breggen van der Breggen though I think it looks like she could be dragged
03:13back by Roy Akers that's an interesting one-on-one battle that will rage for the
03:18next little while as we pick up the finish line cameras and Demi Vollering has
03:24answered the question you know it's very much the pre-event favorites very much the
03:28pre-stage favorites very much the reigning champion
03:33heading to the finish line rubber stamper authority over this race
03:38and what a day we've had breakaway of four riders clear of the field for much of the day and that
03:51after a huge investment of effort by many many riders to break clear to try and hold off the
03:58chase group behind which dwindled in number and eventually was whittled down to a select group of
04:04riders and it was almost inevitable wasn't it that when she attacked that no one was ever going to
04:09be able to get back on terms and as she approaches the line once more at Lagunas
04:14Danela this time in the Vuelta Femenina 2025 stage five to be claimed by the champion
04:21and she's heading into red it's Demi Vollering that takes the victory
