00:00Hi, I'm Sophie Mayland-Maylynn and here are today's headlines.
00:04Yesterday was National Tea Day and we've got an article all about Bettys and Taylors, the owners of Yorkshire Tea, as they see profits rise.
00:15In our column today, we say shame on you North Yorkshire Council, who has scrapped the controversial home to school public transport policy for school children.
00:26This is set to impact rural people and their families because previously if you lived further than three miles away from the catchment school, you would get council run transport.
00:37This will now mean that being scrapped will actually cause siblings to be split, parents to be extremely stressed and people will only be offered transport if it's to their nearest school, even if they're not in that catchment area.
00:51We also take a look at all the local radio shows which have recently been scrapped.
00:56That's all for today's news. Don't forget to pick up a copy of the paper or subscribe to us online for all your exclusive content and more. Have a great day.
