00:00In a world where the it-thing is always changing, sometimes you need a tour guide or two to help you find your way to Pop Culture's Paradise.
00:07If you find yourself reminiscing or in need of a good recommendation, these two have you covered.
00:12And now, here's your hosts, Joey and Jeff!
00:21Hey, welcome to Pop Culture Paradise. My name is Jeff.
00:24And my name is the Macho Man, Randy Savage.
00:27Actually, it's Joe. I wish that was Randy.
00:30Who doesn't? Today, we're going to be discussing the meme culture.
00:34Specifically, an account that I've been trying to get Joe to make for quite a while, actually.
00:40I wanted him to make a Twitter account called Macho Meme Randy Savage.
00:45And we scoured the internet. We haven't found anybody that's actually done this yet.
00:48No, surprisingly.
00:50Right. So, even more reason for you to hop on and make the account now.
00:56You might be on to something because it's like, I think in the last, what has it been, four or five years?
01:01It's like when you communicate with everybody, almost everyone now communicates in animated GIF.
01:07Yeah. Or like they want to go in Giphy or the other ones that are the options on your phone.
01:14And it's like, well, you know, they say text can't convey exactly what your emotion is.
01:19Well, if you attach that picture to it, then they can't possibly misinterpret what you're feeling.
01:24Oh, yeah. It's totally one of those rolling into work on a Monday like,
01:28and it's some sort of just exhausted, you know, GIF or meme, whatever it might be.
01:34So, yeah, that's kind of how we all communicate with each other now.
01:38And I'm definitely hyped because I remember you showing me a few of these over Christmas time,
01:46I think, a while back. And we're going to get to show them here to the show today. So I'm hyped.
01:52So it's going to be up to you, the audience, to decide if this is a venture worth me going on.
01:58And today I'm going to show you the first batch of these that have been created.
02:04And if they're good enough, the account will be made and you will be able to share them.
02:08Jeff, are you ready to dig it?
02:12Oh, yeah. When you want to be by yourself, but company keeps showing up.
02:18Hey, everybody, Randy's back. Come on out. He's back.
02:25No, no, leave me alone. Why the confetti?
02:32I just wanted to come home after a long day of work and just put my feet up on the couch and I come home to this.
02:39See, this is what was relatable to me. It's the fact that, yeah, he looks like,
02:44Oh man, I had something totally planned and now I have to entertain all these people and they just keep showing up.
02:50Go home. You don't even know who half of the people are.
02:53And then somebody is like, hey, I haven't drinking anything all day.
02:56What do you have in your fridge? Oh, nothing for you.
03:01And we're going to go pass fail with these rather than do a whole star system or number system.
03:07I'm definitely giving that one a strong pass.
03:09That is awesome. When a cool person tries to hype up their loser friend.
03:14Let that one sink in for a second. Get one more shot at it.
03:23He does not want to be there. We've all been there, right?
03:29Like, you're like, oh, look at this guy. This guy's great.
03:32He's cool like the rest of us. And that's just yeah.
03:36And you're on the spot. No, trust me. He's so funny.
03:39He says the funniest things all the time and they kind of like put you on the spot and want you to like drop jokes.
03:45And you're just like, leave me the hell alone. No, I'm not.
03:49I'm not going to dance monkey dance. Do you have jokes?
03:52Well, I don't tell like knock knockers like punchline stuff.
03:55I write things down and make it funny later, right?
03:59Well, I don't understand that concept. This guy's a dud.
04:04But then what will happen then is they'll immediately move on to somebody else.
04:08So this will keep happening to people like like throughout the party all night.
04:14No, no, trust me. This guy. I remember this happening to me in the lunch line at school.
04:19And someone tried to like put me on the spot and hype me up to one of their friends.
04:24And I just wasn't having it. I'm like, no, no, move down the line.
04:28Find the next guy. No, you're not their little like pet monkey.
04:32That's like, no, do a trick. Do a trick. Come on.
04:36Do it. Pass or fail? I'm going to say it's a pass.
04:39It's awesome. But I hate when that happens.
04:42When work keeps interrupting your plans to party.
04:45I can't tell you how many times this has happened.
04:48J.R. I'm going to need that video done.
04:51I know you're on Christmas break or no joke, Joe.
04:55I know it's Thanksgiving Day, but we really want to start that promotion tomorrow.
05:01Can you please just put the final touches on that video?
05:05It's like, oh, this one, this one is relatable for sure.
05:09And the worst thing is to like, you know, you know, you've seen it coming for like a week
05:15that this thing is going to fall on your shoulder on the worst possible time.
05:18And you've probably even gone out and been like, hey, what are we doing about that?
05:22Hey, do you have all the pieces I need? No, no, no.
05:25Trust me. Trust me. We'll be we'll be okay.
05:27It's not going to fall on you. I know it's going to fall on me.
05:30I know it's going to fall on me. Yes.
05:33Hello. It's like I you you don't want to answer the phone,
05:39but then it's like the text and then the email
05:42and then the DM and then the FaceTime request like no.
05:48You remember when people could be off the grid, right?
05:51You can't anymore. Like I often love to just turn off my phone,
05:54like not on silent, not on vibrate off, like just shut it off.
06:00And it's it's the closest you can get.
06:03Yes, the closest you can get. Taking you back to last week on WWE.
06:07Party at my house. All right. Party time. No, no, no, no, no, no.
06:12What's the matter? You go to the party too Thompson. I'll go in a little while.
06:15But listen, I sent the other camera crew and all your fans into the conference room.
06:20They're going to party now. Good. But we're the hosts of the show.
06:22So it's business party later. Damn it.
06:25I got to work later. No, no. Yeah.
06:29Get back into the routine. All right.
06:33And you always try to pull that trick to you.
06:35Like I definitely didn't understand what you just said, even though I clearly did.
06:39Yeah, he's trying to he's trying to get to the party.
06:41The boss keeps pulling him back. This one.
06:45I am I am triggered. I'm going to say never let me use that word again.
06:51By the way, I'll give you a pass on the word triggered.
06:54It's okay. And speaking of pass, I'm going to pass that one.
06:58It's good when you just have to one-up the person who's talking to you.
07:01You ever run into this person or are you this person?
07:05I like to pride myself on not being this person though.
07:09When somebody is bragging themselves up,
07:12you I kind of always feel like I need to like slide in and be like,
07:17yeah, well, I also did that but I did this too.
07:21Does it but I but I bite my tongue and I often don't.
07:25Does it like I always kind of feel like I'm skirting that line as well.
07:29Is it one-upping somebody when like you're trying to personally relate?
07:33Like you are hearing what they're saying, right?
07:36And they're like, oh I did this thing and you're like, you know,
07:38I did something similar here in the same vein of what you're talking about.
07:43I'm not trying to one-up you but I have a similar experience
07:48and then they immediately go over to the next guy.
07:51They're like, what's up with him? He just won't let me have my moment.
07:55I thought I was trying to I'm not one-upping you.
07:58I just trying to find common ground here.
08:01Okay, comparatively speaking. I've got a scoop too
08:03and that makes your scoop look like a baby scoop.
08:06Sorry, hurt your feelings or anything like that.
08:09Todd's triggered. Yeah, he definitely is.
08:15Nacho wasn't trying to relate there.
08:18No, he was just trying to put himself over straight up.
08:22You know what? Maybe it wasn't the sense that he was trying to put himself over.
08:26He was trying to put Todd down to make himself feel.
08:31I don't know. I could try to psychoanalyze the brain of Todd,
08:35but I feel like it's going to be a long episode, brother.
08:41Oh, if you had to play shrink to Randy Savage.
08:44I don't know man. Pass or fail. Yeah, I mean that one made sense too.
08:49It's a definitely a real-life scenario.
08:52I'm going to give it a pass and I think you're going to find that with a lot of these
08:55unless you just super miss the mark.
08:59It's not entirely out of the question.
09:01When you want to cheer up your friend after they make a mistake.
09:05See, that's a good quality to have, you know, that's a good quality a friend should have.
09:09Don't worry about it. I'm no mental giant myself.
09:13You are exactly right and I'm in your corner.
09:16He's, you know, he's making him feel better about himself.
09:19He's really trying to hype him up.
09:23I just don't think he did a good enough job of it. Really?
09:26No, sort of a you're really great.
09:30But let me tell you about the great things I've done too.
09:33I'm going to fail that one and I'm going to throw out a disclaimer as well.
09:37You're going to hear a lot of terrible Randy Savage impressions throughout the remainder of this episode.
09:42Uh-huh.
09:45And this is number six.
09:48What it sounds like when you negotiate with mom and dad.
09:51We've all been there, right? That's how a lot of people become lawyers, right?
09:55You gotta you gotta have your first person you're negotiating a deal with
09:59and then if it doesn't, you know, go in your in your favor with mom,
10:03then you what you go over to dad and then you try to play dad against mom
10:07and mom against dad until hopefully you can get your way.
10:11But usually they're smart enough to know.
10:13All right. I see what I see what what he's up to here.
10:17I mean when you're younger, you don't realize the United Front of like,
10:20oh, they both already agreed upon this already.
10:24Yeah, but like I'll watch it happen with my nephew
10:26and it's like there's smaller things that he knows he can get away with by trying out both parents,
10:33but the bigger stuff they've already decided what they're going to do
10:36and they'll try not to break but you just watch it and you're like,
10:41that's sneaky little kid. Do you ever do you ever try to say?
10:44Hey, look, I see what you're doing. Just trust me.
10:49It's not going to work this time or do you kind of just stay back
10:52and watch him work himself into a situation that he can't win?
10:57Well, they don't listen anyway, right?
11:00Like the one thing you try to understand is that they're they're not that developed.
11:07So they only are thinking one thing.
11:09So what you're saying is going to go way over their head or it's like you're speaking to dead eyes.
11:14Yeah, because you're like, oh, you shouldn't try that.
11:17Well, why shouldn't I try that or I'm going to do it anyway.
11:21This is the only way I know how to get the job done.
11:23And you're like, guess I'll just get my popcorn ready.
11:27And isn't that the thing when you when you're young,
11:30even if you get the most like technically sound advice ever
11:34and it pans out to be true, you're still like,
11:37well, no, I'm going to I'm going to do it.
11:39I'm going to do it my way. And if I fail, then at least I did it my way.
11:43You just like one that was when I was younger.
11:46I could have been last week. We just can't get out of our own way.
11:51Nope. And it starts even back then.
11:54Yep. Why? Don't go do it.
11:56No, I didn't. Everybody else. Yeah, next week.
12:00Yeah, maybe. Possibly. Maybe.
12:04He's just trying to get like the smallest resemblance of a yes.
12:08So he can hang on to that and say, but you said, but you said,
12:12you know, that kind of sounds like when we used to try to convince my mom
12:15or somebody to go up to like Wyndham to the KB toy works.
12:19Yeah, and it's like, will you go up there? No.
12:21What if I did this? Maybe you said yes.
12:25Yep. And dude, what was cool about that is you had to actually go out in the world.
12:31And this is something that I tell people,
12:34you know, that I'm that I'm pals with here in Nashville.
12:38It's like, well, JR, you could just get that on like Amazon probably.
12:41And I'm like, sure I could,
12:44but I want to I want to go out and I want to call these places
12:47and I want them to call the other store
12:49and I want to go try to find it myself.
12:51Like, I don't know. There's something fun about that to me.
12:55And that's what we used to always do when we were kids.
12:58And to me, it's like, that's how I still kind of want to do it
13:02rather than just let everything come to me.
13:04Sure, some things. Yeah, but things that I'm excited about,
13:08like a new game or, you know, action figure,
13:13like some rare, you know, like you want to get out there
13:15and into the wilderness, per se, and try to find it yourself.
13:18I think there's like something to the chase,
13:21like which is why I watch the Game Chasers and things like that,
13:23where it's like you go in, you hold out your hand,
13:25you're like Zelda and you're like, yeah, there you go.
13:28I've I've gotten my object. I've won.
13:31I've conquered. Yeah, when you get it in a package, you're like,
13:35I don't know. It feels like somebody handed you a trophy like this,
13:38like the everybody's a winner kind of trophy.
13:40Yeah, and your participation trophy.
13:43Yeah, congratulations. You know how to order a product.
13:46Yeah, I got like these AW figure.
13:49I got the MGF on my shelf and as I had to order them
13:51because I've never been able to go into the store
13:53and actually see these friggin things.
13:55Yeah, so I feel like it was a hollow victory.
13:58I got what I wanted, but I didn't get to walk out with that thrill of the hunt.
14:03It's almost like getting a disqualification win.
14:06Yes. Or let me put this into perspective of one of your favorite all-time wrestlers.
14:12It was like Lex Luger defeating Yokozuna on a count out,
14:16but not actually winning the title.
14:18Nobody's going to drop confetti on me when I get this thing in the mail.
14:22You go click add to cart, confetti starts dropping down.
14:27A choir comes out, starts singing for you.
14:32What? Huh? I didn't do anything.
14:35The Lex Express.
14:37But yeah, I'm going to give that one a pass.
14:39We're kind of going off on a tangent here.
14:41But yeah, I'm going to pass it.
14:43What I sound like when I watch my sibling get lectured by my parents.
14:48Been there and it is the best.
14:50It really is. Though you also have to worry that they're going to rat you out for something
14:56because everybody has dirt that they haven't dropped yet.
14:59You know, what was always the best though is being in somebody else's house,
15:04like being over at your parents house,
15:06which I so often was and watching Chrissy get lectured by your mom or dad.
15:13That was the best because then you're like, all right, I'm not the brother.
15:18I'm the friend of the brother, but somehow it always turned around to what?
15:23At least Chrissy's doing something like she could never do wrong.
15:28Younger. Yeah. Found that phony belt. Counterfeit.
15:32If you can't do the time, don't do the crime. It's true.
15:36It's true. But I think that one was it was a little too quick.
15:41I think I'm going to I'm going to fail that one first.
15:44I think that's going to be the first fail
15:46and it wasn't for a lack of effort or a lack of making sense.
15:50I just wish there was a little bit more to it.
15:52If you can't do the dime, don't do the crime. I thought it would work.
15:55Oh, wow. When you feel like the biggest pimp in the room.
15:59Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
16:02When I was six years old. Yeah.
16:06All the hens. They're just, you know,
16:10yeah, they're just hanging on to every word he's saying.
16:13Now, we're sexy. Those all look like 90s moms.
16:19Yeah. I just want to know like who in the office whose wives are those?
16:24We're sexy girls. These are the fringe benefits of the job.
16:29Yeah. All right. I got to get out of here.
16:32That was a good one. That was a good one.
16:35He felt like he was the cock of the walk. He was the bell of the ball.
16:38And yeah, dude, I'm going to pass that one.
16:42That one was good. Everybody likes that kind of attention where you're just like,
16:46man, they're all saying how great I am.
16:49I must actually be that great, right?
16:52When your teacher keeps teaching when you just want to start Christmas break.
16:56Oh, gosh, we know this all too well, right?
16:59I think that's a pretty universal feeling.
17:00It's I think it starts like that last two weeks
17:03and then that last week's even more painful.
17:06Yeah, and that week seems like forever
17:08and then you get to that point where you're like, oh, please don't assign anything.
17:12I want that 15 16 days where there's no school
17:16and I can just literally do whatever the hell I want because I'm not working.
17:20I got a bunch of new stuff coming in five to six days.
17:23Yeah, and if they step in like, you know,
17:27we're really thinking we want you to finish this book and have this assignment ready.
17:30You're like, oh no, what can I squeeze out on January 8th
17:35or 9th and load myself up on energy drinks,
17:39stay up for five hours and just you're like reading
17:43over like reading and retaining information over Christmas break.
17:47What are you crazy? I'm going to do it all the night before
17:51and it's going to be very half-assed. Did you enjoy what you read?
17:55Did I you can enjoy a book that you read in school?
17:58What? Not the way you're signing it.
18:02No, you said Dodgester business first party second.
18:06Let's go to the party. It's not time yet.
18:08Don't forget later this weekend on All-American that exclusive six-man tag.
18:12Trying to get out of here. All right, let's go now.
18:15Let's go. Where? Where?
18:18Yeah, we're the party. You said you want to go to the party.
18:20You've been saying the party. Let's go to the party.
18:22Goodness. You need to bring it down a little.
18:26Come on. Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas.
18:28You're a little high strung. Dude, that's going to be that.
18:32That's a great pass, especially when Macho turns it on him.
18:36He's like, wait, where are we going?
18:38And he's just he lost it. That was good stuff.
18:41You know, actually, I could see that happening with a regular kid, right?
18:44When you're so excited.
18:46And then like that last minute, you're like, all right, I'll see you later.
18:50It's Christmas time. When do we come back?
18:53And you start like assigning everything you want to do when you get back, right?
18:56Because he just remembered, oh, wait, we're going to have all this cool stuff to do,
19:01but I'm not going to see you for a week or two.
19:03So I think the coolest part about that,
19:07you know, way back when was did that like two three weeks that you were off?
19:11That felt like forever. It was the best.
19:14It really was. Pass or fail? Pass.
19:16I said definitely a pass. That was an awesome one.
19:19When someone breaks out the New Year's party supplies,
19:23you know that person knows how to have a good time.
19:25Sometimes you hope that they save it for New Year's,
19:28except when it's you because you don't know how obnoxious you are.
19:31You just know I'm not just everybody else's when they do it.
19:34Right. I mean, you walk by a kazoo and you're like,
19:38I know what I'm using right now.
19:40Happy New Year!
19:43Randy! Randy! Hello!
19:46Oh gosh, dude. If it's not you with the supplies, it's the worst.
19:51No, I'm going to keep on going and going.
19:54Party time!
19:58Where? Where have you been? Perfect representation.
20:02What party? I've been going out for 72 hours.
20:05I had to leave early just to come over here. 72 hours?
20:08What?
20:11What was he doing for 72 hours to party?
20:15Dude, that must have been the most legendary party of all time.
20:18Whose parents were out of town for 72 hours so they could throw this rager?
20:23I think that's how they filmed Can't Hardly Wait 2, New Year's edition.
20:27Or Project X.
20:30The monkey movie with Matthew Broderick?
20:34Yes, that's the exact movie I'm talking about.
20:36That's the Project X? Yeah.
20:38You can't just have, like, you imagine the parents come home,
20:41there's monkeys swinging in the kitchen on the cupboards and everything.
20:45And Randy Savage is there.
20:48Oh, that noise. It's so piercing.
20:51But I'm going to pass that one. That one was a perfect representation.
20:55A fear that we all have. I've even seen it on the Tyra Banks show.
20:58Somebody was afraid of this.
21:00What? How I feel anytime I'm near a balloon?
21:03What's your phobia? Balloons.
21:06Balloons. Yes.
21:07Great.
21:08Why did you do that? I'm sorry I did it. Here, you hold the balloon.
21:11Okay? I don't want to hold it. Just don't do it again.
21:13Okay, I promise. All right.
21:14Bing.
21:16Because, you know, okay, I get it.
21:17Yeah, because somebody's going to bop you with it. Always, right?
21:21Little kids like bopping you with balloons because why not, right?
21:27It makes sense to me. That's when you pull the old switchblade out and pop that sucker.
21:32Or you get a little pin and...
21:35But then again, some kids who don't mind the sound and then other kids that are like,
21:41oh my God, I hate balloons popping. I'm kind of in that.
21:43I hate balloons popping. Right. It's loud.
21:46It's real loud, especially if it's up close, you know.
21:49When I was watching the little kid party and one of them's just like pop, pop, pop.
21:54It's like you are a psycho. You know what?
21:57You know what? I always dread after every single prom.
22:00Like we just did six schools in four weeks back in prom season.
22:06There's always just decor of balloons everywhere.
22:10So at the end of the night, as we're breaking down all our gear,
22:15all you hear is pop, pop, pop.
22:19There's like 10 staff members all popping balloons at the same time.
22:23And one staff member who ducked under a table.
22:25Right. And no matter how many times you hear it,
22:28it still gives you the ah, ah, ah.
22:31So at that point, I take my headphones and I put them on my ears just to try to block out the sound.
22:38Smart. But I'm going to pass that one.
22:40I like that one. How I feel when I have to tell someone I'm straight edge.
22:44And you know the weird thing about whenever this topic comes up.
22:49One, people usually are shocked and surprised
22:52because they think just because I'm a DJ
22:54and a radio host that I'm some sort of just raging alcoholic.
22:59Like it just it just comes with the territory.
23:02Everybody assumes that all the time,
23:04but I can't tell you how many like, you know, times I've turned down drinks out at,
23:08you know, bars and clubs and DJing events.
23:11Hey, let me get you a drink. Yeah, Red Bull, sugar-free with vodka, right?
23:15No, no, just and then anytime somebody gives me a drink.
23:18It's like, all right, it's good.
23:20It's it's safe, you know, but they're always so shocked about it
23:24and you get one of two things really why or wow, congratulations.
23:30It's like wait, did I win an award too?
23:32Yeah, that's one of the things too. It's like, wow, you should be so proud of yourself.
23:36Like that's so cool. You'll get either that or well,
23:39did you come from like a real like, you know, tough home
23:42or you know, did something bad happen to you?
23:44And it's like, okay, let's let's enjoy ourselves here.
23:47Let's not sit on the couch and talk.
23:50Or you get the one person who's confused it for sobriety.
23:54So they're like, I'm straight edge too. I don't drink except for you know,
23:57what I had a problem with it four years ago and you're like,
23:59I mean good for you to get that under control, but two different terms.
24:04Yeah, four years, four months sober. It's like, well, that's great,
24:08you know, but for us, it's let's not let's not do it,
24:13you know, ever. Let me tell you something Toddster.
24:16I don't drink or drive. So I'm cool.
24:19Yeah. What does that mean? Nothing, don't worry about it.
24:24You know, what's sad about that is that was me up until I was like 30,
24:2731 years old because I didn't have my license.
24:30So it was yeah, I didn't I didn't drink and I didn't drive.
24:35So technically I was doing a good thing.
24:37I just one I chose not to and the other I just wasn't any good at.
24:41So technically you were the macho man, right?
24:45Yeah, I'm going to pass that one that one that one hit home for me.
24:48I like that one when you try to work with your parents,
24:51but all you're doing is annoying them.
24:54We've all been there. They could kind of start off like, oh, that's cute.
24:58You know, hey, pass me this pass me that but then you're like,
25:01what does that do? What is this for? Why do you need that?
25:05Starts to really annoy them,
25:08especially when it's one of those sit and watch and learn from me
25:12and then you start asking the questions and they just look super upset.
25:15You're like, well now I know where you don't have a job as a teacher.
25:17Whoa. Yep. Yep. What's that?
25:20What's this? Don't you know? No, I don't.
25:26You told me to come out here so I could learn it.
25:28And if you don't tell me I'm just going to stand here.
25:32Checked out visibly pretty much.
25:34Yeah, those smoking guns. They're a pistol.
25:38We're just talking about that. He's high-strung.
25:43You know, I think that's going to be the second fail for me.
25:47I think that one is going to be the second fail.
25:49I thought it was funny,
25:51but I don't think it completely matched with the context.
25:55When you arrive to class and you haven't done your homework.
25:58Not that any of us have ever done that.
26:00Oh, no, we're all honor roll students. Matter of fact fun sidebar.
26:05I made honor roll one time in my life and that was strictly thanks to Joe.
26:12Strictly thanks to him.
26:13I had to take junior English and senior English the same year
26:18because I was just I just had way too much fun, you know,
26:22so I had to take them both. Yeah,
26:25they both happen to be on the same day with the same teacher.
26:29It was literally one after the other block three and block four
26:33and I can't remember what book it was,
26:36but I would come over and you're like dude.
26:38I did this like sophomore year.
26:41I'm like, well, this is my junior English dammit
26:43and through your help with that with that class
26:46and then I really, you know, stepped it up in my other ones.
26:50I made honor roll one time my entire scholastic career
26:54and a lot of that is thanks to Joe.
26:57Great. Nobody was able to do it.
26:59I didn't do it either.
27:02You just want to make sure that you weren't the only one that didn't do it.
27:05So you start going to your classmates
27:07and oh, well, they didn't do it and they didn't do it.
27:10All right. I'm going to be okay.
27:13I always found those to be the best times when you get there
27:15and like everyone in the class before this thing starts goes.
27:18Did you do it? No. Did you do it? No.
27:21All right. It looks like there's like three or four people in the class
27:23who actually did the assignment.
27:24So maybe the teacher calls an audible and gives an extra day.
27:27Yeah, if hopefully right.
27:30I mean, it's so crazy like back then we would go through more work
27:34to not do the work than the amount of work it would take just to do the work.
27:38I'm going to pass that one. I thought it was good, but it was short.
27:42So that's kind of the only thing about it.
27:43I didn't like but it made perfect sense.
27:46Here's one that we've all experienced number 15
27:49when you forget your line when recording your vlog,
27:53dude, you should see me trying to record with my lady
27:57and I get so mad at myself and she just like,
28:01oh my God, who is this guy?
28:03I have so many of those outtakes where I especially
28:07for that Halloween series that I did with all the fan films.
28:11Yeah, those are cool. You see me doing all the lines
28:14and just oh and this blah blah blah happens
28:17and then you hear me mess up.
28:21So many F-bombs. I hate the camera.
28:23I hate this. I hate this. Yeah to play us out.
28:26What does that mean? What does that mean? We'll do it live
28:29and that's one of the problems for me is I recently just came forward on TikTok
28:34and talked about how I've dealt with a stutter my entire life.
28:38So when I'm not in some sort of rhythm
28:41and cadence and I can kind of you know,
28:44because I rap so I could always find the flow in the in the beat.
28:49So when I'm talking on the air, I often rely on that.
28:54Rhythm that that that cadence to really help me not stutter
28:57and mess up my words, but if it's just me addressing the camera,
29:02it's hard to even get out the first word
29:05if it's not how I would naturally do it, you know what I mean?
29:09Oh, have you ever analyzed like the very first sentence
29:12or two that you say when you're starting off a video?
29:14Yeah, and you're like mine. I always have a problem with the hands
29:18or anything else like that that is like, oh god, I sound so stupid.
29:22But if I can get past that first two, it's a lot smoother sailing.
29:26Right? Sometimes you just have to have like a word or two,
29:30you know, in the jump just to get yourself going per se
29:35and I often find that mark and that's when I start the cut,
29:39you know. Men on a mission.
29:46Well, that's okay. I would have got there. Don't worry about me.
29:49You just hold up your end. Watch your back.
29:50You just hold up your end, pal. That was great.
29:53I just love how he throws up the like it's over like they're all done.
29:58Dude, that one's a pass. That's a great one.
30:00Something that we've all experienced. Parents trying to work the electronics.
30:05Yeah, I got a queued up right here. The Undertaker and Samut.
30:07You know how to queue up? Oh, absolutely. Right here.
30:09I'm going to do it. No, no, not the red one. I was going to push the white one.
30:12Boy, are you bugging me, man? Oh, I'm sorry. It looked like the red one.
30:16What does the red one do? Don't push the red one. Oh gosh.
30:19Hey, listen, you tag in, I tag in. I meant it nice. I meant it nice.
30:24It's cool right here. Let me just hit this. I could have done that.
30:30That's a good one, dude. That is that is yeah, that one's good.
30:34I'm going to pass that one. When you trick your friend and they won't admit it.
30:38Like they can't just say, you know what? You got one over on me.
30:43They just they can't let themselves do it. No, that would make them look lame.
30:48You they can't put over the joke or the prank, you know?
30:52Fooled you, brother. Yes, I did. I fooled you.
30:56I didn't admit it.
30:59Admit it. He starts telling the other guy.
31:05Hey, I fooled him. Well, if you can convince other people that the fooling happened,
31:09then it makes it official. Yeah, I fooled you.
31:14Plus on Superstars this weekend, the long awaited rematch, Crush and Doink the Cloud.
31:18I fooled you. You didn't fool me. I didn't do it, brother.
31:22If he had an object, he would throw it right now.
31:24When we come back. Fooled him with that. I fooled you.
31:29Macho is just he was so good at that stuff.
31:32He would start marching around the room, convincing other people, going off camera.
31:37You're wondering where where the hell is he? Like what is happening?
31:41He moves more than Doc Brown, just back and forth and pacing.
31:44And like you could be a little stressful watching Macho Man.
31:48And yeah, Todd, like I feel that because there's nothing worse
31:52than if you actually weren't fooled, but the other guy's selling it so hard.
31:56You're like, oh my God, shut up.
31:58Shut up. Where they just won't let it go.
32:02And dude, he was getting so frustrated. That's so good.
32:05I'm going to pass that one for sure. That was great.
32:07This one is very patriotic as you can tell the Macho Man is.
32:11How I feel on the 4th of July. Good old Independence Day.
32:16Stop. Start.
32:21I didn't understand why he made him stop all of a sudden,
32:26but it's very patriotic and I do love America,
32:31but I've that's I think that's going to be what the third one that I need to fail.
32:35Wow. I mean, it was pretty on point.
32:38What makes it fail? It just I like the chant.
32:43I think Todd could have been a little bit more patriotic
32:47and his clothes and his theme,
32:50but yeah, I don't know that one just it just didn't knock it completely out of the park for me.
32:56What I feel like what I'm trying to chill out.
32:59Chillin' like Bob Dylan.
33:02Bob Dylan like a great chiller because a lot of people use that line,
33:06you know, every time I've ever seen a Bob Dylan.
33:10He just seems like a cranky old bastard.
33:12Like he seems apathetic towards so many things.
33:14So maybe apathy is chillin' to some people.
33:17He probably needs to chill. This is a problem.
33:20But like when I think chillin' I think like Flo Rida or something.
33:24Right. You know what? I see partying with Flo Rida. Chillin' would be like Orange Cassidy.
33:29Maybe. But I would never chill with him,
33:32but I'm going to pass that one. I like that one. When I get the slightest bit of criticism.
33:38Real good point. You know what? It's not polite to point. Back off.
33:49Dude, he was just real quick. Back off. I'm going to pass that one.
33:53That's great, dude. That's great.
33:55When you have to make up excuses on why you can't watch something that gets recommended for you.
34:01Oh, I've done this countless times. Did it sound like this?
34:05Kind of a Tom Cruise lookalike. Hey, have you seen the firm yet?
34:09I don't like attorneys. I don't even like my own attorney. So I haven't seen that either.
34:18I mean, he comes up with a good point, you know, off the cuff.
34:21But hey, that's the real deal right there. I'm going to pass that one too.
34:25Oh, I can relate to that. It's like how come you've never seen Star Wars?
34:29I don't like space. Yeah. Just a blanket statement.
34:33I don't like space. Yeah. Oh, what about that?
34:37I don't like the Old West. I don't like medieval times.
34:39Yeah, and then it's like, oh, but I mean you say you don't like that,
34:43but it's not really like that. It's like, well, that was the complete selling point.
34:47You just gave me. What are you talking about?
34:50But the flip side of that, if somebody tells me that they've never seen Back to the Future,
34:56I'm just like, so you're telling me you don't like films? You don't like movies?
35:01You know, why do you hate time travel?
35:04You don't like time travel? How can you just blanket hate something like that?
35:07You just said you don't like space. Entirely different.
35:10And then you just go down the line of, you know, one of these other memes
35:14and you'd grab that. When you come back home to a problem
35:18and you need someone to blame. It's over.
35:21Why? You touched the machine, brother. You shouldn't have done that.
35:24Look, it's a freeze frame. Oh God, that's your booger.
35:28I'm sorry. I was just trying to help
35:30because I thought maybe there was something. Don't help me no more.
35:36That's a good one. I'll pass that one. I like that one.
35:39I think that's like one of the things you get most at work.
35:41It's like, oh, it would have been fine if he didn't touch it.
35:44I was just trying to help. Come on.
35:47Now, here's something for all musicians in the audience.
35:50When your friend comes around promoting their own music.
35:53Not calling anyone out or anything. No. Got the album.
35:57Sorry, I'm late. Top 40. No doubt about it.
36:01No doubt about it. That's you.
36:09Oh, yeah. What is the macho man to do when they keep flagging the video for copyright?
36:17Yeah. Sounds good, doesn't it?
36:21It's madness. You want to dance, don't you?
36:25Oh, that's so good.
36:29High five. It's not going to change me. I'm still going to be the same.
36:32I think that's how we promoted you most of the time, right?
36:35No. Yeah. And if you did it, can we go back and do that?
36:39Because that was so funny, dude. I love that.
36:43What music's playing? My music. The only music worth playing.
36:47You're digging it, right? Yes.
36:50Yeah, it's great. See, they like it too.
36:53Universal consensus. It's great.
36:55And then you get that person that's like, don't forget about me when you're all famous.
37:01Now, this one happens to us when we're using a green screen.
37:07Now he's got to help. What's he doing? The video?
37:10What does he know about green screen? Macho man is a great green screen.
37:15If macho man stood in, if macho man stood in front of a green screen in that outfit,
37:22half of them would be keyed out. He probably forgot about the chroma key.
37:27Ah, you know, it's a tough one.
37:30But just the fact that he's acting like he knows what he's talking about.
37:33Oh, yeah. Yeah, the chroma key. I'm going to pass it.
37:36I'm going to pass it. When you've decided that the everyday routine is not happening today.
37:42We all wake up like that. Can I have a couple of these?
37:45No, you can't have any. How about this one? Technical stuff.
37:48You don't even know what's going on, brother. You're boring today, brother.
37:51You're boring today. That's it. We're still cool. Yeah, yeah.
37:55No, come on. Okay, here's the deal. Last week.
38:02No, it's not happening today, dude. Yeah, you dropped it.
38:05Last week on Monday, I'll pass that one. It makes sense.
38:09I like it. Now, earlier you were talking to us about, you know, trying to get a project done for work.
38:15Now you have to be the creative guy, right?
38:18Yes. I got to be the, you know, creative.
38:22I got to be the director. I got to shoot it.
38:25I got to edit like it's all it's all right there.
38:28You know, it's all just figure it out, Jr.
38:32But sometimes you're not the guy who gets to make final approval.
38:34So what is this clip?
38:37This is what it sounds like to video editors when a non-creative is in the room.
38:41Put the background in the video wall. Yeah, we need more.
38:44What? We need more B-roll.
38:49You don't even know what B-roll is. You got to take a chill pill.
38:51Play that one in slow motion. Oh, man. Cool, brother. Chill pill.
38:54You got to relax. No problem. Thanks for the advice. You're out of here.
38:57We're almost got this thing done. It's going to be a happening.
38:59All right, everybody. Try harder. Everybody try harder.
39:05Oh my goodness. That's well, you know, you you're, you know,
39:10doing projects for work and and you kind of have to tell yourself,
39:14look, I either need to convince my boss that this was his idea
39:19or we're going to go back and forth at least three times
39:24just so he can have his fingerprints all over it.
39:27Like it was his choice to do things a certain way.
39:31Only macho man can get away with saying get out of here.
39:34Yeah, I'm going to I'm going to pass that one.
39:37That one makes perfect sense, too. When you're so excited about your story
39:41that you can't even talk like a normal person.
39:44Yeah. What do you mean?
39:49What? Cat fight, cat fight. Unitary.
39:53Oh, no kidding. Tell me about this.
39:59What's going on the surprise? Oh my God, that's too good.
40:03You know what it did? It made me wonder what exactly is he talking about?
40:07And it creates that what we talk about in radio all the time,
40:10that lean in moment where they kind of lean in and they listen close
40:15and they turn it up and that's what that just did right there.
40:18So I'm going to pass that one. That was a great one.
40:20And not to mention Macho just trying to sound like a cat is pretty gold.
40:26When you want to taunt a secret over somebody's head.
40:32Oh, come on. I got to go wire circuitry.
40:37No, no. Keep him away from circuitry.
40:41Yeah, I'll pass that one. That makes sense because he's made.
40:44He's like, hey, come here. Come here. I got to. Nope.
40:46See you when your friends talk about something you made,
40:49but they are so positive. It sounds like mockery.
40:53Oh, this is a fine line, is it not? It is because when they're like,
40:57man, that was so great what you made. I made it.
41:00It can't be great, right? It's like, yeah,
41:03it's like where we're it's like we are our own worst critic forever
41:07and always, you know, go to Macho, man.
41:11Touch of sarcasm there, Todd.
41:13Yes. Are you patronizing me at this point?
41:16We're going to show it in its entirety later on in this show.
41:19Cool. How about that? Yeah, I like that. Welcome to W- sarcastic.
41:22I'm going to pass that one because it's exactly what it says in the
41:27description, right? It's, you know, Macho Man getting praise,
41:31but maybe a little too much to the point where he's like,
41:34all right, now you're just patronizing me. Now,
41:36now you're kind of mocking me, but Todd actually wasn't,
41:39but and that's the best song in WrestleMania the album.
41:43It definitely is, though. I do have a soft spot for Hacksaws.
41:48Buffalo? No, Hacksaws. USA. USA.
41:52Oh, dude, that one, that one goes hard. Tell me it doesn't.
41:55It really does, but those are all stock Waterman and Aitken beats.
41:59So that's like Rick Ashley. That's Rick Ashley's producers. Right.
42:03And Bananarama. When someone doesn't get your references,
42:07where maybe they hadn't seen the movie or the show or read the book,
42:11what, you know, whatever. Better than that, though, right?
42:14Better than Mariah Carey's video. Who's that? Mariah Carey, the singer?
42:19I never heard of him.
42:22It's a long story. Never heard of him.
42:26That's that's always the worst. Like I'll often, you know,
42:30I'll often say around work. Nobody calls me a chicken.
42:35And they have a lot of them don't know, don't really know what I'm talking about.
42:39No, it's like you got to find your people. It's like damn it.
42:42Like if I was in a room with Joe,
42:45he would have he would have picked up and dropped the next line,
42:48you know. But yeah, that happens a lot.
42:52I'm going to pass that one. When your friend says they aren't mad,
42:55but you know, that's a lie. You can tell sometimes.
42:59They're like, no, no, it's all good. It's fine,
43:01JR. Ditch, you know, recording the podcast two weeks in a row.
