President Donald Trump's temper flared while talking with the press at the White House on Wednesday, May 28. During a live press conference, the president fielded questions from the press corps, beginning with a female reporter who asked Trump about the new nickname his tariff plan has reportedly been given on Wall Street: "TACO trade."

00:00Mr. President, Wall Street analysts have coined a new term called the taco trade.
00:03They're saying Trump always chickens out on your tariff threats,
00:07and that's why markets are higher this week.
00:09What's your response to that?
00:10Six months ago, this country was stone cold dead.
00:14We had a dead country.
00:15We had a country people didn't think it was going to survive,
00:17and you ask a nasty question like that.
00:20It's called negotiation.
00:22You set a number.
00:23And if you go down, you know, if I set a number at a ridiculous high number,
00:27and I go down a little bit, you know, a little bit,
00:30they want me to hold that number, 145% tariff.
00:34Even I said, man, that really got up.
00:36You know how it got?
00:37Because of fentanyl and many other things, and you added it up.
00:41I said, where are we now?
00:43We're at 145%.
00:44I said, whoa, that's high.
00:46But don't ever say what you said.
00:48That's a nasty question.
00:49I can promise you, and I have great respect for the people at the European Union,
00:53they wouldn't be over here today negotiating if I didn't put a 50% tariff on.
01:00The sad thing is now when I make a deal with them,
01:02it's something much more reasonable.
01:04They'll say, oh, he was chicken.
01:06He was chicken.
01:08That's so unbelievable.
01:09That's so unbelievable.
