00:00All right, US stocks ended slightly high on Thursday, May 29th, as shares of NVIDIA gained
00:05after its quarterly results, while investors digested a late-afternoon court ruling that
00:10reinstated the most sweeping of President Donald Trump's tariffs. The S&P 500 gained 23.62 points
00:17or 0.40 points to end at 5,912.17 points, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 74.93 points
00:26or 0.39 percent to 19,175.87. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 117.03 points
00:36or 0.28 percent to 42,215.73.
00:43The market is still digesting kind of the, you know, back and forth on the US court blocking
00:49the Trump tariffs. You know, that's, I mean, that's kind of been the story this entire year is,
00:53you know, it's been tariff ping pong, for lack of a better term. And we saw, you know, a lot of
00:58exuberance immediately after that court blocked it. You know, now there's news coming out today
01:03that, well, the White House is almost certainly going to challenge this. Also, you know, there's
01:08still going to be tariffs in place. It's not like they, you know, evaporated. So I think the market
01:14is, you know, just consistent with, you know, trading on tariff news is starting to ratchet
01:19that back a little bit. I don't necessarily see that as a bad thing, especially given the
01:22kind of the strength that we saw, you know, early morning in the futures and then yesterday
01:26as well. You know, if anything, I think the bigger story, honestly, is NVIDIA, you know,
01:31with the beat that they had and, you know, just the signal that sends for, you know, kind
01:36of broader strength and, you know, what has been, you know, the kind of the main growth
01:41sector for equities of recent.
