Family-owned Northern retailer Booths is closing its shop in Ripon, with the site set to be replaced by a Tesco supermarket. The company said that its decision to close the store had been made after it struggled with “significantly” increased operating costs. Booths has begun a consultation process with its staff at the Ripon store relating to a transfer of the property lease to Tesco.
