00:00Stemless wine glasses are a little controversial and today we're talking one of the biggest
00:03debates in wine, to stem or not to stem. A stemmed wine glass has a lot of pros and very few cons.
00:09Holding the glass by the stem keeps the heat of your hand far away from the wine so it doesn't
00:14get too hot. A stemmed wine glass also makes for easy swirling. Whether you're doing that on the
00:19table or in the air, swirling is important for helping oxygenate the wine and release some of
00:23its aromas. A con, stemmed wine glasses can be a little tricky to wash and extra hard to put in
00:28the dishwasher. Stemless wine glasses have become more popular over the years for a few good reasons.
00:33They're really cute, they're more casual and kind of easy on the go and they're a bit more sturdy and
00:39less likely to tip over. While convenient, stemless wine glasses might not provide the best drinking
00:44experience. You have to hold the stemless wine glass by the bowl of the glass, meaning that your hand
00:49is almost indirectly touching the wine, heating it up. And since you have to hold the glass by the bowl,
00:54you do end up with fingerprints all over your glass, which can look a little messy.
00:58But, stemless wine glasses are easier to clean and store. I'm always going to choose a wine glass
01:04with a stem, but at the end of the day, it's choose your own adventure.
