1.
“When the earth is shaken with its [final] earthquake.”
Tafseer:
This refers to the great and final earthquake that will occur at the end of time, on the Day of Judgment. It will be a shaking like never before — violent, terrifying, and total — causing the earth to expel all that is buried within it.

2.
“And the earth discharges its burdens.”
Tafseer:
The earth will release everything it holds — this includes the dead from their graves and hidden treasures or deeds. It is a sign of resurrection: the earth will no longer conceal anything.

3.
“And man says, ‘What is [wrong] with it?’”
Tafseer:
People will be in shock and fear, confused by the severity of the earthquake. It will be unlike any natural event they have ever experienced.

4.
“That Day, it will report its news.”
Tafseer:
On that Day, the earth will speak and bear witness to everything that occurred on it. Every action — good or bad — will be revealed. According to Hadith, the earth will testify about what people did on its surface.

5.
“Because your Lord has commanded it.”
Tafseer:
This event will happen by the direct command of Allah. The earth obeys its Creator — even in speaking and revealing all deeds.

6.
“That Day, the people will depart separated [into categories] to be shown [the result of] their deeds.”
Tafseer:
People will be divided into groups based on their actions — the righteous and the wicked — and each will be shown their record. There will be no confusion, no injustice.

7.
“So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it,”
Tafseer:
Even the smallest good deed will not be overlooked. Allah’s justice is perfect — no act of kindness, however tiny, will be wasted.

8.
“And whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.”
Tafseer:
Likewise, even the smallest wrongdoing will be exposed. This serves as a powerful reminder for self-accountability.

Key Lessons from Surah Az-Zalzalah:
The Day of Judgment is real and terrifying.

The earth itself will testify to our deeds.

No deed — big or small — goes unnoticed by Allah.

Every person is accountable for their own actions.
