An update of the incidents of flooding and landslides, as well as the State's responses was provided by the Local Government Minister during the post-cabinet media conference.

The Prime Minister did not attend the media conference and the Works Minister explained this was because the Prime Minister was still charring the Cabinet meeting which focused on the impact of the severe weather on several areas.

00:36under an orange level riverine flood alert. Thursday marked the first time that Prime
00:42Minister Kamala Passat-Busasa did not attend the post-Cabinet media briefing since her party's
00:47victory in the general election on April 28th. An explanation was provided by Works and Infrastructure
00:52Minister Julian John.
00:54So the other Prime Minister is in Cabinet and the meeting continues, okay? Prior?
00:59Yeah, that's the only reason she's not here right now. We didn't want to keep you waiting
01:05for too much longer. So she asked that we come out and because you would have wanted to know
01:10what was happening with this ongoing yellow alert that just seemed, the orange alert sorry,
01:17that seemed to be unrelentless. Yesterday I spent the day working in Tobago as a matter
01:22of fact and the flights were turned back. You know, flights that would have been gun clearance
01:29to take off from Tobago, get into Piyaco and vice versa had to turn back me there because
01:35they said the visibility was actually zero.
