Kill Zone (SPL: Sha Po Lang) is a Hong Kong action-crime thriller directed by Wilson Yip, featuring intense martial arts, gritty drama, and explosive emotion. The story follows Detective Chan Kwok-Chung (Simon Yam), a dedicated cop dying of cancer, who is determined to bring down ruthless crime lord Wong Po (Sammo Hung) before retiring.
To do so, Chan and his team have planted a child witness into Wong’s circle, manipulating evidence to build a case. As Chan prepares to hand over leadership to his tough and morally upright successor, Ma Kwun (Donnie Yen), things begin to spiral. Ma's arrival introduces friction with the team’s morally gray tactics, especially as Wong Po retaliates with lethal force.
As corruption, justice, and revenge collide, Ma must decide how far he's willing to go to stop Wong Po. The film crescendos with breathtaking fight sequences, particularly the brutal knife alley fight and the climactic battle between Donnie Yen and Sammo Hung—showcasing raw martial arts choreography.
Kill Zone is celebrated for its dark tone, emotional weight, and bone-crunching action, blending modern crime drama with classic kung fu intensity.
